Chapter 86 - A black coffin for the faithless.

1 HOUR LATER

Fumio scanned his map with resignation, the full out offensive had been completely repelled, and Kiri had lost even more troops.

An hour ago, The Order had gone on the offensive, and it was a disaster.

He could no longer lie to himself, this invasion was a failure, he had been under prepared and arrogant.

But if he couldn't win, then at least he would make sure they would not lose.

"Order the staggered retreat." He said to his adjutants calmly. "Prepare the bodies, eight of them, and bring them to me."

This invasion had lacked the opportunity for him to use his most powerful Sealing Techniques, the enemy reluctant to chase his army and masterful at defending, never giving him the chance to set up properly.

But that meant he was full of resources, and fully willing to use them all at once.

He patiently waited, as one by one, bodies were brought in front of him.

"Leave, only interrupt me in an emergency." He ordered calmly.

His assistants followed his instructions without argument.

They knew better than to argue with him about things like this.

30 MINUTES LATER

He sewed up the last corpse, taking a step back to look at the fruits of his labor.

8 was probably a bit too much, the precision necessary for an Octogram Formation would not be easy to achieve, but there was a reason he used corpses.

He ran thought a series of hand seals before slamming his palm on the first corpse, black markings appeared on it, etching themselves across every single part of its body.

"Black Coffin Seal: Corpse Dance Formation."

The corpse didn't twitch, it simply got up smoothly and stood perfectly still.

And with a puff of smoke, a rolled up scroll took appeared in his hands.

He simply pressed it against the center of their forehead, it sunk into them, vanishing from sight.

That was one done.

7 left to go.

He moved onto the next body.

'Send Sadako on her own to Sector 52-U. There's a squad retreating through the earth, but they will have to surface due to an underground reservoir.'

'Understood, Creator.'

Kiri was retreating, most of them were being organized about it, from my top down perspective I could see them splitting into lines that leap frogged each other, slowly disengaging, or at least attempting too anyway.

My people weren't letting them go peacefully, and that's just how I liked it.

The enemy base started moving, seems like Fumio had enough, he was abandoning the fortifications and joining his forces in retreat.

But something caught my attention.

I had been using my DP to see all Chakra in a range centered around Wave, the surprise attacks were a wake-up call on why I should have a better eye on everything happening around Wave, the fact that Kiri's plan literally boiled down to, infiltrate however you want, at sunrise, cause as much damage as possible.

So now I had been passively keeping an eye on everything around my worshipers, and from what I remembered, everything that could be a threat in Naruto had Chakra, so budget Byagukan it was.

And there were 8 people who were rapidly leaking Chakra running through the battlefield, they would reach a spot and then quite literally just go limp, if I hadn't seen them just walking around, I would have thought it was an actual corpse.

But I looked closer, and saw the extensive network of Seals running across and inside their bodies, linking them all together.

In terms of complexity, it was equal to Naruto's seal, but it looked way less elegant.

I really should learn Fuinjutsu, huh?

But that was for the future, for now, I prepared a teleport.

It was pretty cheap since technically these were objects and not living beings, which made it much easier for me to teleport them, at least up to a certain size.

What was Fumio planning?

'Slow chase, Yata. Don't go on a full offensive.'

'Understood.'

Let's see if Zabuza's wariness of this man is warranted.

***

Fumio had packed up everything he needed, it wasn't much, he always made sure everything was ready to be moved quickly, he never trusted anyone else to prepare his own supplies.

Around him stood the remnants of his army, now reduced to about 250 troops, who were all currently waiting for his signal.

"FULL RETREAT!" He yelled loudly. "I REPEAT, FULL RETREAT! KILL ANYTHING TRYING TO STOP YOU!"

And with that order, he started running back to Kirigakure.

Keeping a close eye on the enemy chasing them, waiting for enough of them to reach into range...

And he saw it, two more squads showing up, and one of those monster birds flying towards him.

That should be enough.

If his estimate on the enemies number was correct, then this would be a third of their total forces.

Good enough.

His hands formed a familiar set of seals before he slammed his palm against his chest, right where his own black coffin seal was placed.

"Black Coffin Seal: Grand Funeral: Octogram Formation."

And a gigantic Octagon enveloped most of the battlefield, leaving the enemies chasing him trapped, it wouldn't last long, but it would last just long enough for the hundreds of scrolls filled with enough poison to kill an entire village to activate and release their contents.

This was a seal formation that he loved using, because of how easy it was to adapt it to the situation, while being incredibly lethal in its use.

You could even replace the deadly poisons with anything else you wanted, as long as it fit in a storage scroll, then it could be used by this technique.

The Octagon darkened and solidified, he stared at it for a second, feeling pleased that at least some of his opponents would die.

But there was no time to waste, he had lost, so he had to retreat before enemy reinforcements arrived.

With a Body Flicker, he left the battlefield behind him.

The light disappeared around him, making him stumble slightly.

"What." He said aloud in confusion.

Before he could process the situation, he saw a Flame Jutsu illuminate the area, showing that they were standing next to a massive black barrier, and in the distance he could see massive clouds expanding rapidly outwards.

Oh.

He was inside his own formation.

***

After about two minutes, Shun saw the barrier disappear, he would never admit it out loud, but he had been worried when the barrier was raised, the fact that his beam had not even dented it made him realize just how dangerous this technique was.

But before he could truly panic, his Creator had simply moved the barrier, one second he was inside of it, and the next it was in front of him, a massive dark pillar stretching into the sky.

Which was very obvious when he saw what was revealed, hundreds of bodies laying dead on the ground, the plants slowly shriveling up and dying as well.

The massive cloud that was slowly being dispersed by the wind was even clearer, whatever it was, it was very deadly.

'Yatagarasu, the enemy is dead, our Creator has killed them all.' He informed his brother calmly. 'Your orders?'

He waited for the response, but he felt slightly cheated, this was a very anticlimactic end to this Invasion.

Oh well, he was enjoying teaching Jugo, maybe he should be happy that this was over fast, and that he could get back to turning that boy into a menace.
