She cleared her throat. "Who said I hated it?" she mumbled, folding her arms. "Like I told you, it was just my first time, that's all."
Enzo cocked an eyebrow. "Oh? So you're telling me that all that wailing this morning—'I kissed Enzo Laureati, I'm doomed!'—was just an act?"
She rolled her eyes, the flush on her cheeks deepening. "Fuck you."
"Since that's the case," he said, moving in closer, his smirk fading into something more serious, "then I guess it's time I told the truth too."
Something about his tone made Adeline's heart skip a beat. She blinked at him, curiosity bubbling up inside her as she asked, "Tell the truth about what?"
Enzo exhaled softly, lifting both hands and cupping her cheeks, gently tilting her face up. "Adeline Smith, when I first met you, I felt nothing towards you."
