Svetlana approached with a pleased smile, her bright yellow, knee-length dress swaying with each step. She reached out, patting Enzo's shoulder affectionately. "I'm alright, my dear dear. How was your little vacation? I must say, I wasn't expecting you back so soon. I thought you'd be gone for at least a week or so."
He offered an easy shrug. "We had a change of plans. Something came up, so we had to cut the trip short."
Svetlana's concerned expression was as fake as ever. If only she knew how horrible she was at it.
A short gasp left her lips as she glanced down at Adeline in his arms. "Oh dear, is she alright?"
Enzo forced a small chuckle, nodding. "Yes, she's just exhausted from the long ride. That's all." He adjusted his grip, shifting Adeline's weight in his arms. "I should get going now. My arm's starting to ache from carrying her."
Svetlana nodded, patting his back dismissively, giving him a gentle nudge forward. "Alright, alright. Go along now, dear."
