Enzo's eyes snapped shut as a sharp, stinging pain laced through his arm. His jaw clenched, and his muscles tensed, but after a few seconds, the pain melted away, replaced by a strange, almost pleasurable warmth that spread through his veins. His eyes reopened, a slow, approving grin curving his lips as he watched her drink.
Adeline groaned softly against his skin, lost in the intoxicating sensation. Her eyes fluttered shut, her throat bobbing with each greedy swallow. The taste of blood was unlike anything she had ever experienced. It was warm and rich, coursing through her and spreading like liquid fire.
