123 CRACK AN EGG
"That's because it's not visible to the naked eye. You have to read the magical codes to detect it," Leo explained.
He placed his palm on what seemed like thin air, and suddenly, the object became visible—a sleek, shimmering boat.
Yun-Yun's eyes widened. "No wonder they could spy on us for so long without being detected. It's a magical invisibility boat."
Leo inspected the vessel, a rare hint of excitement crossing his face. "This is incredible. With this, we can travel undetected."
They climbed aboard to test their new find, but to their dismay, the boat remained visible after being uncloaked.
"Why isn't it turning invisible again?" Leo asked, frustration creeping into his voice.
"There's likely a magical trigger to activate the invisibility," Yun-Yun mused.
Leo rummaged through the fallen team's belongings, searching for anything that resonated with the boat's magic. After a few moments, he found it—a sextant-like artifact humming faintly with energy.
He handed it to Yun-Yun.
"This must be it," she said, studying the intricate runes etched into the device.
Holding the artifact, she channeled her magic into it, and a thick mist began to envelop the boat. When the mist cleared, they were no longer visible.
"Incredible," Leo murmured, marveling at the effect.
Yun-Yun, however, remained cautious. "We must stay quiet and move slowly. Any sudden noise or rapid movement might disrupt the invisibility spell."
"Understood," Leo replied, his voice low.
With their newfound prize cloaking them in secrecy, they set off, the ghostly vessel gliding silently through the realm like a phantom.
------
Leo and Yun-Yun navigated the swamp for several days, concealed beneath the magical shroud of their invisible boat.
They moved undetected, observing the chaos of the realm from a safe distance. Whenever they encountered a team of adventurers locked in battle with a powerful foe, their strategy was simple: wait.
One side would eventually prevail, weakened by the struggle.
That was when they struck—clean and decisive, taking the spoils of battle for themselves.
They had claimed several "last kills" this way.
"I feel like a villain," Yun-Yun said, her voice heavy with disapproval. "Killing these people when they're down... it doesn't sit right."
Leo didn't flinch. "Those same people wouldn't hesitate to kill us if we were the ones weakened. Those who live by the sword can't complain when they die by it."
Yun-Yun sighed, reluctant but unable to refute his logic. "Noted," she replied, though her discomfort lingered.
As they drifted further, they stumbled upon another team engaged in a brutal fight. A massive, spider-like creature was entangling its victims in sticky webs, immobilizing them one by one.
Only their leader, a powerful figure, remained free, hurling spells and curses at the beast.
"Damn you, you eight-legged bastard! Don't make me use another egg!" the man shouted.
Suddenly, a bolt of lightning streaked down from the sky, striking the spider and sending it scuttling back into its webbed fortress. The leader cursed again, exhaustion clear in his voice. "You're still alive? Damn it, I'm running out of eggs to crack!"
Leo furrowed his brow, confused. "What's he talking about? Breaking eggs?"
Yun-Yun leaned forward, intrigued. "I've heard of summoned beings like him before. They have... strange origins."
"What do you mean?" Leo asked.
"They say some summoned beings didn't come here through your online game. Instead, they arrived through other means, tied to different Systems."
Leo's eyes widened. "So, people can come here without the online game?"
"Yes. Your game is just the latest portal to this world, but there have been others. Many different Systems have existed long before this one."
"What kind of System is his?" Leo asked, watching the man intently.
"It varies," Yun-Yun said. "From his behavior, it seems his System grants rewards by breaking magical eggs—probably something like a carnival game."
"So, he gets magic Easter Eggs as a feature of his System?" Leo asked, fascinated.
"Exactly. Though his System doesn't have the versatility and sophisticated features like yours, it provides unique advantages. That's the rule of this world—every summoned being has their own advantages. I suspect this cracking egg guy have a System similar to me.""
Players entered this world, the Realm of Sins, from different portals. Before the online game players came here through various kinds of random games or novelty but the advantages that their system gave to them were basic.
The man cracked another egg, and a second lightning bolt tore through the swamp, striking the spider again but failing to kill her. "Yes! Double lightning! Lucky me!" he shouted triumphantly.
Leo raised an eyebrow. "He really cracked two eggs for two lightning bolts? That's... lucky."
Yun-Yun shrugged. "These older Systems are unpredictable. It's best not to engage them—they might have an ace up their sleeve that we couldn't deal with."
"That's wise, I've seen people rolling a 'Seven' in Craps ten times in a row in a casino before," Leo agreed, but curiosity lingered in his mind. "What about your System? What was it like?"
Yun-Yun hesitated, her cheeks flushing slightly. "It wasn't called a System when I first came here," she admitted.
"Why are you blushing?" Leo asked, amused.
"It's embarrassing," she said. "In my time, it was called the Publisher, and it gave me three 'Dices.'"
"Dices?" Leo tilted his head. "What do they do?"
"I can write my own fate and roll a dice. If I roll a six, my fate is granted. Lesser rolls grant lesser results. But..."
"But?" Leo pressed.
"If I roll a one, the fate is denied, and I might face penalties for the bad roll," Yun-Yun admitted.
Leo frowned. "That sounds risky. Your System seems way less practical than mine."
The online Realm of Sins was a feature packed system almost like it was designed to help the players.
"It's like some idiots created the online game to train the players who came to this fucking world", Leo noted and added.
"Yes, before your system's arrival, the summoned beings do not have full featured guides, only certain but limited narrow supports. I seldom use the help from my system", Yun-Yun replied before adding, "That's also why I rarely use the Dice anymore."
Their conversation paused as they turned their attention back to the fight. The man cracked another egg, shouting in frustration. "This one better finish you off, you fucking spider!"
