Ethan barely had time to set his phone down before the bed shifted beneath him. A familiar warmth settled on top of him, pressing against his chest.
He didn't even need to open his eyes to know who it was.
"Vanessa." His voice was low, laced with the exhaustion of the day.
He cracked one eye open, finding her perched on top of him, her thighs bracketing his waist.
She leaned forward, her arms resting on either side of his head, trapping him beneath her.
Her wavy hair tumbled down, strands brushing against his cheek. There was a mischievous glint in her eyes, her lips curved into a knowing smirk.
"You look tired," she mused, tilting her head.
Ethan sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. "That's because I am tired."
"And yet," she whispered, lowering herself until her face was mere inches from his, "you don't seem to be pushing me away."
Ethan smirked. "Maybe I just missed having you around."
