Chapter 125 - The Solution to Danzo

Chiba had only learned about his family situation and Madara yesterday. Since he wanted to uncover the secrets hidden within Chiba, Madara couldn't overlook the people around him. Therefore, he had ordered White Zetsu to investigate the matter.

"Don't worry, you're still young. Awakening the Sharingan is only a matter of time," Madara reassured.

"Then I'll take your words to heart," Chiba responded with a slight smile.

At that moment, Chiba pointed to a store in front of them. "We're here. This is the shop that sells daily necessities."

After returning home, Chiba pondered whether Uchiha Izumi was actually Madara in disguise.

Just then, he noticed a small white snake slithering in through his bedroom window. He was momentarily puzzled by its presence, but before he could react, the snake spat out a scroll from its mouth. As soon as it delivered the message, it vanished in a puff of smoke.

Realizing that the snake had been sent by Orochimaru, Chiba wondered what the rogue shinobi wanted from him. With that thought in mind, he picked up the scroll and began reading its contents. As he read, his expression darkened.

Without hesitation, he left his house once again.

At Orochimaru's Residence

When Chiba arrived, he found Orochimaru, Nawaki, and Tsunade gathered, their expressions grave.

Orochimaru acknowledged him with a nod. "You're here, Chiba."

Chiba got straight to the point. "Teacher Orochimaru, is what you wrote in the scroll true?"

Orochimaru nodded solemnly.

Chiba was taken aback. He hadn't expected Shimura Danzo to be interested in researching Wood Style so early.

As he was lost in thought, Tsunade suddenly slammed her fist onto the table.

Boom!

The sturdy table shattered into pieces.

"That old bastard Danzo! He dares to lay his hands on my grandfather's Wood Style?!" Tsunade fumed, her anger palpable.

Seeing the shattered table, Chiba didn't need to guess how furious she was. However, what surprised him was that Orochimaru, who usually pursued forbidden knowledge, had chosen to inform them about Danzo's plans instead of exploiting the information himself.

His eyes drifted toward Nawaki, who sat quietly, noticeably less agitated than Tsunade.

Chiba quickly pieced things together. Nawaki had yet to visit his grandfather's grave, so Orochimaru must have felt some restraint because of his relationship with him. Furthermore, Orochimaru had recently established a partnership with Chiba, and his true interest lay in immortality, not Wood Style.

Orochimaru, now working on expensive research projects, had also started being mindful of expenses. Previously, he wouldn't have cared if Tsunade destroyed furniture, but now he was visibly distressed over the broken table.

"Sister, don't be so angry. The worst we can do is eliminate Danzo," Nawaki suggested.

Chiba glanced at Nawaki, surprised by his extreme stance.

"You two need to calm down. We can't simply go after Danzo," Orochimaru interjected. "You know he controls the Root organization. How do you propose we handle him?"

"So we're just supposed to sit back and let him target our people?!" Tsunade snapped.

"Why don't we inform Uncle Hiruzen about this?" Nawaki suggested. His approach was straightforward—bring the matter to the Hokage since Danzo's actions had clearly crossed a line.

Orochimaru shook his head. "Do we have any solid evidence? Without proof, confronting the Hokage will lead nowhere. Sarutobi-sensei has a deep bond with Danzo. There's a high chance he'll dismiss the matter."

"Then what do we do? This approach won't work, and neither will that one." Tsunade's frustration was evident.

As the group struggled to find a solution, Chiba spoke up. "Actually, there is a way."

All three turned their attention toward him.

Seeing their anticipation, Chiba didn't keep them waiting. "Tsunade-san, Nawaki, your goal is to eliminate Danzo, right?"

"Exactly."

"Since dealing with him inside the village is impossible, why don't we lure him out of Konoha? Outside the village, he won't have all of Root's forces backing him. That would be our chance."

"And after eliminating him, we'll make it seem as though he was killed by rogue ninjas. It may be a bit of a stretch, but without evidence, no one can dispute it."

Hearing Chiba's plan, Tsunade's expression softened.

However, she quickly brought up another concern. "Chiba, we might be able to pull that off, but how do we leave the village unnoticed? If we all leave at once, it will definitely raise suspicion."

Chiba smirked. "Sister Tsunade, have you forgotten? I can use the Flying Thunder God technique. I just need one of you to carry my marked kunai outside the village. Then, under the cover of night, I'll teleport us there, take out Danzo, and bring us back. No one will even know we were gone."

He turned to Nawaki. "Nawaki, this part of the mission will be yours. Tomorrow, pick up any mission that allows you to leave the village. Once you're outside, find a secure location and place this there."

Chiba handed Nawaki a special kunai marked with the Flying Thunder God seal.

Nawaki didn't hesitate. Though he wasn't sure why Chiba had chosen him for the task, he accepted the kunai and nodded. "Understood."

"Good. That settles one issue. Now, the only thing left is finding a way to lure Danzo out of the village," Chiba said thoughtfully.

Hearing this, Tsunade and Orochimaru fell silent, deep in contemplation.

Chiba, too, pondered the problem. Based on his knowledge from his past life, there were only a few things Danzo truly cared about: the Hokage seat, Wood Style, and Sharingan.

If they could exploit one of these, they might just be able to set their trap.
