"Yes, we told you before that we will plan everything and there would be a party for it, an engagement party." Gabriel said.
The more they talked, the more overwhelmed Emma became but she could not do anything so she just stayed quiet.
"What do you think about that Emma? The engagement party?" Rachel asked Emma.
Emma got herself out of her mind, "Yes that is fine." Emma managed to say.
"Alright, we will need set a date for the engagement party as soon as possible." Rachel said.
"Does it have to be soon?" Emma asked.
"I think that is for the best so that after the engagement we can go on with the marriage." Rachel replied.
"So have you told your parents about the engagement or any of your relatives?"
Emma mood changed but she tired her best not to let it show, "I haven't, it will take a while before I get in touch with my parents. And for my relatives, I am not close with any of them and none of them are in this city."
"Okay, well there is still time for that and we can handle the transportation and accommodation of any relatives you invite, you don't need to worry about that." Rachel said.
"There is still a lot we want to talk about with you and we will do that eventually. We just have some things to settle concerning the business. But after we finish up with it, we will focus fully on the engagement." Gabriel said.
Emma felt relieved, the conversion with them was about to come to an end and now she can finally breathe.
"Yes, we will be in touch with you. While you go out, the maid will give you our private contact, that way you can be able to contact us directly. You will be our daughter-in-law soon so that is not a problem." Rachel smiled as she said.
Emma smiled but it was far from a genuine smile.
"Should I go now?" Emma asked.
"Of course." Rachel replied. "And you don't have to be too formal with us."
Emma stood up from the couch, "Thank you for having me." Emma managed to say.
"Well I guess the whole formality thing will take some time to go." Gabriel smiled.
Without taking much time, Emma started to walk away from Gabriel and Rachel.
"And Emma." Rachel stopped Emma. "You said that you will put in the effort to make this work so we promise you that Julian will also put in the effort."
Emma did not know how to feel about that, she was sure that Julian was not going to put any effort so she wondered why they promised that.
Finally it was over, she was relieved and at the same time overwhelmed.
She reached the exit and before she could open the door, the maid opened it.
"Here" The maid handed Emma a piece of paper.
Emma took the paper and opened it, in it was the contacts of Gabriel and Rachel, "Great." Emma said to herself sarcastically.
Emma looked around but there was no sign of Sophie anywhere so she started to wonder where she went to. The thought of looking for Sophie came up but then she did not know where to begin to look.
Then Julian came up to Emma and from his facial expression, he was not happy.
"From what went on in there with you and parents. Someone could tell that you actually want this engagement to go through." Julian said to Emma. "What I don't understand now is why?"
Emma was confused, she did not understand how Julian knew about what she talked about with his parents and she did not know what to say but she knew that she did not want to stay long in the mansion.
"Sorry, did you see my friend?" Emma asked.
"I don't know what you want or what your game is here but I promise you, I will do everything in my power to make sure that this engagement does not happen." Julian replied.
"And I will also do everything in my power to make sure this engagement does not happen." Emma said with a straight face.
The atmosphere between them was something Emma did not understand. She wanted to talk to Julian so that they can work together to end all this but with what he suggested the last time and with the way he was misunderstanding her now, she decided that it will best if she does not involve him.
"Heyyy, I am here now." Sophie came in-between Emma and Julian. Sophie could see the tension in the air so she knew what she had to do. "Seems like you are done with your talk so we should be going now." Sophie grabbed Emma by her hand and dragged her away from Julian.
Emma and Sophie walked away from Julian, "Thanks for that Sophie, you are life saver."
"No need to thank me, that is what I am here for." Sophie said. "So how did it go? Your talk with Gabriel and Rachel."
"Well it went terribly and by terribly I mean they liked me more just like you said and they want to go on with the engagement soon, they even said that there would be an engagement party." Emma replied.
"Wow, all that happened." Sophie said.
"I don't know what is wrong with me, I could not say anything bad about myself and I could not say no to them for some reason."
"It's alright, you don't need to say anything negative about yourself, and everything went the way it's supposed to. We just have to think of what next to do." Sophie said.
"I don't know, I don't know if I can actually do anything to stop it. I feel so useless and powerless."
"Yeah, this is not your forte, you are in a whole new world so it's understandable, but you have to make this world yours."
"How do I do that?" Emma asked.
"Well first you a have to learn everything about this world." Sophie replied. "But for now let's just get you home so that you can rest."
"Yeah, I really need that." Emma said.
They finally reached the exit of the mansion but then Emma saw someone next to the door. It was an elderly man and it did not take her long to figure out that it was the same man that was in the taxi who took her to meet Julian.
"Its you." Emma said when they reached the exit.
"Yes, I told you, we will certainly meet again." The man smiled
