Her black stillettos clicked on the tiled floor as she ascended the stairs to the entrance of Grandex company.Ivy couldn't believe it was actually happening, she told the members of the Deliverance Team when she attended prayer meeting and they were happy for her and congratulated her wishing her success.She looked her best at least I tried,she said to herself.Getting to the company was like going through a battle field thinking and thinking you won't get hurt.She boarded the public transport and avoided close contact with the passengers so as not to get her ironed shirt rumpled.She had to argue with the conductor for her change which involved exchange of words but at last the change was given to her.Getting on the next bus she accidentally hit a pregnant woman on her waist as she was rushing to get into the bus to and which resulted to countless"I'm so sorry" and massaging her waist with her palm to help her ease the pain.Time wasn't on her side as she got off the bus so she had no option but to enter okada which she disliked so much because to her they caused most road accident.She prayed while on the bike till she got to the destination.But all that experience was washed away by mere staring at the magneficient building.She walked briskly to the receptionist who looked beautiful and was typing on the computer,she didn't even notice her presence so she cleared her throat to get her attention and she looked up"Welcome to Grandex company madam,how may I help you"the receptionist said smiling and Ivy wondered what that smile could do a heavy heart.She placed the complimentary card Chief Obi gave her on the glass table before the receptionist who took the card and studied it "I have an appointment with Chief Obi this morning,he asked me to come see him".The receptionist returned the card to her and picked up the telephone and put a call across to the CEO,the call ended and she placed the telephone down"His secretary is on her way to take you to his office,pls have your seat while you wait"she gestured to the sofa adjacent to her and Ivy sat down, taking in the beauty of the company's interior.A tall fair complexioned beautiful lady walked up to Ivy and led her to Chief Obi's office on the 12th floor,with the help of the lift they got there in less than a minute and she was led into Chief Obi's office.It was well furnished as Ivy stared at the beauty of art in his office.He dismissed his secretary and welcomed Ivy offering her seat as they exchanged pleasantries.Then he requested her C.V and was surprised as such wonderful qualification"So you mean you're a first class graduate and no company wants to hire you, maybe they think you're over qualified but not here, you're just what we're looking for and you're in the right working environment and you're privileged to work here and I assure you that you won't regret it"Chief Obi said after handing Ivy her C.V,he picked the telephone on his table and dialed his Secretary who appeared in his office almost immediately"Take her to the Finance department and put her at the Head of Finance department and make her comfortable,then you equip her with the norms of the company and give her a tour round the company and when you're through report to me immediately"Then turning to her he extended his hand for a shake who h Ivy accepted "Welcome to Grandex company"Ivy gasped and knelt before Chief Obi thanking him and praying for him,she got up afterwards and followed his secretary out of his office.Chief Obi sat back on his seat smirking as he clasped his hands together, planning something big.
