The first pharmacy had just refused him. The second one threatened to call the police. The third and fourth didn't even let him finish his explanation before shoving him out the door.
Now, after two hours of wandering from store to store, he was still empty-handed.
Eric took a deep breath, trying to suppress the urge to flip over a table.
"Enemy is in the hiding, and me in the open… This situation is way too passive. If I don't turn things around soon, I'll be the one at a disadvantage."
He had a strong feeling that someone was deliberately making things difficult for him.
