Mila paced back and forth inside the room, wondering what was going on. After Zyran had dragged her inside the room, he had left her with a strict warning.
"Don't fucking test me,"
And he left her standing there. Mila wasn't sure what testing Zyran at this point would mean, so she didn't dare to move at all. Despite hearing Lacie's loud voice and other screams, Mila didn't rush out to see.
When she heard Zyran's harsh voice, she flinched. After Zyran, there was no other sound in the house.
Mila swallowed hard when she heard footsteps; Zyran was returning to the room. She wanted to run and hide or maybe pretend to sleep, but:
