By the time they got to the edge of the city where Clara's shaman does her sabbatical resting or whatever it was Mila had failed to memorize, it was already late in the afternoon and the sun had gotten quite mild compared to its raging earlier.
Sipping an iced tea they had stopped to buy, Mila and Lacie sat inside their car watching people gather around a woman. Some fell at her feet, others just watched her in pure admiration.
"I hope the eyes saw us coming," Mila slurped her drink and chewed. Taking out a pair of dark shades, she fixed it on her eyes and moved her hair back, covering it with a baseball cap.
Lacie too got ready to step down from the car and follow, but Mila stopped her.
"I'll go alone, Lacie," Mila grabbed her phone and some documents. "Stay here and be my eyes."
