Chapter 26 - How did your day go?

Melissa let out a tired sigh, "Anyways, how did your day go?"

"It was quite decent, not good, not bad," Albert answered, wariness finally disappearing from his face. "What about the both of you? How has this day treated you?"

"Well... it was good," Melissa turned her head to face a particular someone, fluster in her gold-like eyes, "until 'someone' decided to pull a wholly unnecessary and unhumorous prank," she said while emphasising the word 'someone.'

Kaelen stared at Melissa with a wicked smirk on her face, "Oh, such a cruel and unjust world we live in! What vile treachery is this, that I, a humble and devoted soul, should be so wronged by mine own Fair Wench of My Heart!? Have I not showered thee with nought but adoration? Have I not sung thy praises like a bard lost in love's eternal torment? And yet, here I stand, stricken by thine own tongue, wounded deeper than any blade could pierce! Tell me, O merciless one, what heinous crime have I committed to deserve such foul mockery? Shall I fall to my knees and weep? Shall I cast myself into the abyss of despair? Nay, for even in this treason, I shall remain ever thine!" Kaelen tried her best to duplicate how Nobles moved while speaking.

"And as for the noblest of the questions thou hast posed unto me, dear Albert, I shall answer thee with naught but truth — for verily, by the grace of the heavens and the turning of fate's grand wheel, I do find myself in fine health and fair spirits. Worry not, for no ailment nor sorrow doth plague me this day, and thus, I stand before thee in the fullness of my well-being!" She nobly bows before Albert.

Melissa and Albert both stared at Kaelen with a deadpan expression for a couple of seconds. Albert was surprised and Melissa was confused.

"What? Why are you trying to talk like the nobility? and what did you even say?" Melissa asked Kaelen who had just risen from the graceful bow she had gestured towered Albert.

"Idk... for fun?" Kaelen said with a straight face.

Melissa looked at her with a deadpan expression, "You do realise that no one on this ship likes talking about the nobles for 'fun', right?" She sighed, "Captain should have picked better crew members."

"Come on! It was just a joke!" Kaelen gently slapped Melissa's shoulder.

"Too bad that I was not joking, like seriously... we got a bitch who acts like a lesbian, a literal whore, a rude motherfucking motherless bastard, and he is old on top! Why is he even a pirate at his age? Shouldn't he just retire? Anyway,... a two-faced psychopath who literally loves watching people suffer, and he loves blood for some reason; like, what the actual fuck? — a literal vampire! And how could I ever forget about our mister educated, tall, blue eyes, handsome, smarty parts who apparently knows how to do business properly, girls drool over him for some particular reason, and who knows how rich he truly is!?... and last but not least — a beggar, that one was necessary... definitely necessary, It was a must." Melissa said flusteredly as she growled.

Kaelen's expression turned deadpan.

"What did I ever do to you to deserve that cursed discrimination!? — And I'm rich!!!" Albert lased out.
