Utterly surprised, that was her first thought that I was hurt instead of it being someone else's blood on my shirt. Worries had darkened her sapphire eyes.
I should have changed and washed up before coming to see her but in my desperation, I came with bloody hands and blood sprinkled like red pearls on my shirt.
Quietly I clasped my arm behind her waist and pulled her into myself so she was straddling me. Her bandaged hands remained on my face, dispelling the chaos within me.
My hands rubbed her soft back as our gazes connected and I whispered.
"It's not my blood."
I saw her pupils dilate as the shock of my words registered with her.
"You tortured him?" She asked hoarsely but there wasn't any revulsion as I had expected. Her thumbs rubbed against my hard cheeks. I knew she was feeling them.
