Tina stood in front of her closet, scanning the endless rows of dresses and outfits. She had a date with Trevor tonight, and she wanted to look drop-dead gorgeous for him. And herself. But mostly for him.
Just as she was about to settle on a stunning red gown, her phone buzzed. It was Lamont, calling for a video chat.
"Hey! What's the plan for tonight? What are you wearing?" Lamont asked, his voice booming through the speaker.
Tina held up the red gown, and Lamont's eyes widened in approval. "That's stunning! Buuuut... show me more options."
Tina frowned at his dismissal, but obliged, parading a series of outfits in front of the camera. Lamont oohed and ahhed over each one, finally settling on a breathtaking black and strapless mini dress.
"That's the one, Tina!" he exclaimed.
She had to agree with him, especially after she wore it and looked herself in the mirror. It was gorgeous.
"Thanks for your help, Lamont," she said, grateful.
He shrugged. "Anything for you."
"I'm guessing you don't need help for yourself?"
He chuckled. "Eh. I think I'll do just fine."
Hours later, Trevor arrived. She took a deep breath, smoothing out her dress, and made her way to the entrance.
Trevor stood on her porch, looking dashing in a tailored tuxedo as he handed her a bouquet of red roses. Tina's heart skipped a beat as he gave her a smile, his eyes brightening as they took in her dress.
"You look stunning," Trevor whispered, his eyes locked on hers.
Tina blushed, feeling a flutter in her chest. "Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself."
Trevor chuckled, offering his arm. "Shall we?"
She nodded, joining her arm with his.
They drove to the exclusive, rooftop restaurant, "Sky-High," with breathtaking views of the city skyline. The maître d' greeted them with a warm smile, leading them to their cozy table by the window.
Over a delectable three-course dinner, Tina and Trevor's conversation flowed effortlessly. They laughed, shared stories, and caught up on certain things. The air was electric with sexual tension, but they both played it cool, savoring the anticipation.
As the night drew to a close, Trevor reached across the table, his fingers brushing against Tina's. "I don't want the night to end," he whispered.
Tina's heart skipped a beat. "It doesn't have to."
With a smile, Trevor paid the bill, and they slipped out of the restaurant, into the cool night air.
"Do you...want to come to my place this time?" Trevor asked once they got into the car.
She didn't expect that, but she'd thought about it briefly. Him asking her made her feel excited.
So she agreed without a thought. "Yes."
And so, instead of her mansion, they drove to Trevor's house, an obviously expensive apartment.
As they stepped inside, Tina's eyes widened in surprise. It was nothing like she'd expected. It was a bit dark and gloomy, except for Trevor's presence, which made her feel...hot.
Trevor's eyes locked on hers, his gaze burning with desire. "I wanted to show you my place," he whispered, his voice low and husky.
"Oh yeah?" she said, breathless.
"Yeah," he responded, hands on her hips now. "How do you like it?"
"It's... It's nice, but-"
He leaned forward to graze her ear with his teeth. "What?"
"I feel... Hot," she breathed.
He stopped what he was doing and leaned back to look at her properly, hand tracing her face.
"I have a few things in mind that'll help you," he said, staring qt her lips now.
Tina's heart was racing now. She knew exactly what Trevor had in mind.
And she was more than ready to see where the night would take them.
***
The next morning, Tina woke up to the warmth of Trevor's body beside her. She smiled, feeling the sense of comfort and security she'd experienced the last time they'd shared a bed together.
Trevor stirred, his eyes opening to gaze at Tina. "Good morning, beautiful," he whispered, his voice husky.
Tina blushed, feeling a flutter in her chest. "Good morning."
Unlike last time, this time, they bathed together. It was more Trevor bathing her, honestly. He insisted on taking care of her. And he did.
From there, he proceeded to feeding her a delicious breakfast, and pampering her with gentle touches and sweet kisses. He kept her clothes in the laundry to be washed. He went all out in making her feel comfortable.
As the morning wore on, Tina reluctantly mentioned her busy schedule for the upcoming week. "I have a lot of meetings and deadlines to meet," she explained, sitting comfortably with him in his bedroom.
Trevor nodded understandingly, rubbing her feet. "For your company."
Tina smiled. "Yeah. The whole thing with your friend seems to be working out and I'm trying my best to make sure I get the partnership."
He shrugged. "I'm sure you'll be fine. I didn't tell him anything, so just know that whatever decision he takes, it's because he wants to."
"Okay," she responded. "Thank you."
If he'd tried to convince his friend to help her, she definitely wouldn't have felt great about that. Sure, she didn't dislike the occasional help she'd get from him in the past, but by then she didn't have a whole company. She wanted to be chosen based on merit. As silly as that may sound to others.
Hours later, Trevor dropped Tina off at her mansion. They shared a tender kiss, and Tina watched as Trevor drove away, feeling a sense of longing.
As she stepped inside her house, Tina's phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen, her heart skipping a beat as she saw a familiar number - one she hadn't seen in a long time.
The text was a brief:
"We need to talk."
Tina's mind racing, she wondered what had happened and what to do.
