Knocking could be heard as Indra sat up and saw a woman standing in his doorway as she stood at five feet tall with emerald eyes and clear nearly pale skin as her blonde and red hair was shoulder length and swayed slightly as he caught a glimpse at her ears that signified her race as an elf as she stepped inside his room.
"I can say I am quite surprised to see that your room is still empty, you don't feel the need for decorations?" She asked as Indra did nothing but stare at her "I don't." Indra said while getting up from the bed as he was preparing to move past her "Allow me to introduce myself." She quickly said as he stopped in front of her as she held her hand out "My name's Kyla, and you are?" She asked as Indra stood there for what felt like forever "Indra." He said as she put her hand down awkwardly "Well I am here to let you know that I am the other instructor here, I was told you had a light spar with our top student." She said as he could tell she was examining him "So...what are you?" She asked as Indra immediately began walking past her "I have things to do before my time is taken up by tasks for Sir Cain." He said while leaving her there in shock.
"If you are going into town I recommend not-" Before she could say another word he had already disappeared without a trace as she was in more shock 'He's even more impressive than I thought.' She thought inwardly as she began leaving from out her student dorms.
In town loud praise could be heard as a small army in turquoise and gold was marching beside a carriage that was pulled by two white horses and inside a boy could be seen looking out and waving, he wore a turquoise suit with gold lining as the gold buttons were the shape of dragon heads as his long spiky blood red and black hair was put up into a ponytail as his light hazel colored eyes scanned the crowd.
'Look at them...desperate for someone to rule them and tell them what to do, how pathetic.' The boy thought inwardly as he gave a small sigh as a figure suddenly appeared across from him as he recognized him as his father's right hand man "My Lord, it's nice to see that you've returned." Cain said as the boy across from him gave a small nod "Is my father home?" He asked as Cain gave a quick nod.
"He is, at the moment he's doing paperwork and may have some personal things to discuss with you during supper." Cain said as the boy nodded "Hopefully not another assignment?" He asked while Cain shook his head "I'm not aware of too many details at the moment but it involves us going to shake a few noble hands." He said as shock was written on the boy's face "I thought I wasn't allowed to go? Why now all of a sudden?" He asked as Cain laced his fingers together.
"You will find out at supper." He said as he looked out the window as he could see the crowds of humans and demi-humans waving towards the carriage "And try not to conduct any of your usual antics when you reach the manor." Cain said as he disappeared without a trace as the boy began clenching his teeth- annoyance rising up inside of him.
Once he reached the manor the doors were wide open for him to enter as he and his men entered the manor and was greeted by the sight of a brunette maid with shoulder length hair "Welcome home lord Silas!" She said as he smiled at her as she knew and could tell the smile was fake and had a sense of lust behind it "Thanks for the warm welcome Emily! Be sure to stop by my chambers later." He said while walking away from her so she couldn't have time to reject.
After making his way to the dining hall two men stayed outside while the others followed behind him into the dining hall, sitting at the table was just one man in a matching turquoise suit as he had his plate in front of him with Sir Cain standing a few feet behind him "Good evening father!" Silas said as he bowed to Siegfried before sitting down.
"I have a meeting that I have to attend soon, it may be a week or two from now but I plan on having you attend this meeting with me along with Cain." Siegfried said as Silas nodded as a plate was slid in front of him by a maid as he didn't look at the contents of his meal "Where is this meeting supposed to take place?" Silas asked as Siegfried started eating a portion of the meat in front of him.
"We are going to Crestfall." Siegfried said as Silas was confused "Crestfall? You mean Drakenshade Keep." Silas said as confusion was written on his face "I plan to ask for their army, I think I have a lead on where the rest of our people are and I need their help on retrieving them." Siegfried said as Silas frowned "Why don't we convene with the Zodiac Council? They're more reliable than the humans-"
"The humans have resources in places just like the council, I refuse to bother the council with my personal business I can handle on my own or did you forget why we're the last three of our kind roaming around!" Siegfried said as Silas looked at him confusingly "What do you mean three? It's only two of us father?" He said as Cain began clearing his throat.
"During the assignment given to us I have came across a dragonkin, he seems sharp and trustworthy but I advise keeping a close eye on him to make sure he adjusts and understands that we are all in the same boat." Cain said as Silas scoffed "And what boat is that? We are the Tempests! There isn't anything we can't have." Silas said as Cain looked at Siegfried who only took a slow sip from his wine glass.
"You are right, you are the Tempests..." Cain said while giving a slight bow "But you are the last of your line, on borrowed land your father earned by helping and protecting the humans and no mattered how much respect is earned or loyalty proven they will still call us the "Impure Family" because we are not like them, so yes, we are in fact "in the same boat" young lord." Cain said as Silas immediately stood up anger in his eyes as they became slits.
Siegfried looked on in silence as Silas stood there staring and soon gritted his teeth and left the table and after a few moments the dining hall as he now had questions he want answered.
