Adam turned, his eyes narrowing as he took in the figure before him. His surprise was brief but genuine—it was her.
Selene.
She stood with effortless grace, a knowing smile on her lips.
"I must admit," she mused, her gaze sweeping over him, "even with the artifact, you remain untouchable. Impressive. How about this—you join my family, and in return, I'll grant you anything you desire."
Adam let out a short chuckle, shaking his head. "Tempting, but there's a problem with that offer." He spread his arms wide. "I have a score to settle with someone in your family."
Selene's smile faltered slightly.
"But now that I think about it," Adam continued, rolling his shoulders, "maybe it is a little petty. After all, he's just a kid. But I like being petty, especially when it comes to revenge. My sister died that night because of him. And from what I've learned, harming a member of your family means harming you all… so why stop at just one?"
