"Hey, are you leaving already? asked Minjae his tone light, but there was something else hidden in it. Something that made Eunwoo heart skipped.
"Yeah, got some stuff to do," replied Eunwoo, trying to sound casual with a forced smile.
"Stuff, huh? You are not trying to avoid me again. Minjae said with a raised eyebrow. Stepping closer. His gaze lingering for just a moment.
The words hit harder than Eunwoo expected. He knew Minjae was teasing him, but there was something in his voice that made it feel like their is more to it. Something Eunwoo wasn't ready to confront.
"I'm not avoiding you." Eunwoo replied quickly, but his voice faltered slightly.
Minjae grin widened, leaned in closer, and said, "Good because I'm getting tired of the silent treatment."
Eunwoo swallowed, trying to steady his breathing. The tension between them felt electric, charged with something both exhilarating and terrifying. He wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in his throat. Instead, he glanced away, trying to hide his glowing heat in his chest.
"Anyway. I will see you later, yeah?" Minjae continue his voice softer.
"Yeah, later, " Eunwoo nodded his throat tight.
Was I really avoiding him or giving him the silent treatment? Was it my way to keep our distance from each other?
