Russell trailed off, glancing at Daniel with a worried look.
"Huh?" Chantelle wasn't sure she understood what Russell meant.
After finishing the IV drip, she didn't want to stay in bed any longer. She got up, changed her clothes, and took Kane's hand, leading him downstairs.
"Wow, it smells amazing!" Kane's eyes lit up as the aroma of delicious food filled the air.

Chantelle felt a small hand gripping hers tightly.
She realized the little guy was worried about her. Leaning down, she picked him up and said, "Come on. I'll take you to the kitchen to see what's cooking!"
Kane hesitated, resisting slightly. He didn't want to burden his mother, knowing she was still weak.
"I can walk on my own, Auntie Chantelle. Just put me down!"
