Daniel ignored Philip and walked to the kitchen. He tossed the burnt pancakes into the trash and grabbed a new pan from the cabinet. He prepared the ingredients, and soon, the rich aroma of pancakes filled the air.
Philip's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe it. No one would ever believe that The Demon King of Easthan could make pancakes. Drawn by the smell, he approached Daniel.
Not only did they smell amazing, but they looked perfect too. Kane didn't say a word but he just started eating.
"Daniel, when did you learn to cook? I had no idea," Philip said behind him.
He lingered near the stove, waiting for the next pancake. If it weren't wrong to fight a child for food, he would have asked Daniel for the first bite.
"I learned when I was bored. Do you believe me now?" Daniel asked.
"Believe what?" Philip asked, rolling his eyes.
"That men who can't cook will never get married," Daniel replied.
"Bold of you to say that! You're not married either," Philip scoffed.
