Lucian's steps paused for a moment. He turned slowly, staring at the beast with a flat expression. "What?"
June, with his shining white fur under the evening light, looked at him sharply, "I said, I'll follow you."
Lucian sighed, holding back the urge to grumble right now, "What if I refuse?"
The beast continued to gaze at Lucian more sharply, its golden eyes showing seriousness, "I'll still follow you."
Lucian raised his eyebrow and then covered part of his face with his hand while rubbing his temple, feeling a headache coming on. "So you don't care about anything I say?"
Lucian slowly lowered his hand, staring at June with an unreadable expression. He took a deep breath, trying to hold back his frustration. "No," the beast replied without hesitation.
Lucian blinked once, then twice. Then he let out a soft huff, half-laughing but it sounded more like someone trying to accept the weird reality in front of him. "So stubborn," he muttered.
