{Chapter: 116 You are sweeter than the cake!}
Qiu Wanxi didn't show even the slightest resistance to Lin Yuan's actions.
On the contrary, she truly enjoyed it.
Lin Yuan, looking at Qiu Wanxi—who had been held by him countless times—noticed that she still hadn't gotten used to it. Her cheeks always turned red whenever he pulled her close, making her appear both nervous and delighted at the same time.
With a chuckle, Lin Yuan reached out and gently stroked her head, his touch filled with indulgence.
"Tell me about the situation in the store recently," he said casually.
"Okay, Young Master..." Qiu Wanxi's voice was soft and obedient as she snuggled into his embrace, savoring the warmth of his hand as it ruffled her hair.
She then began to report the recent status of the cake shop, her tone clear and organized.
To Lin Yuan's surprise, the shop's progress had exceeded his expectations.
The China World Trade Center was already a bustling commercial hub, but initially, some of Qiu Wanxi's cakes hadn't been very popular. However, as time passed, a few of her newly launched creations started gaining traction. Customers who had once ignored them now came back regularly, and demand grew steadily.
A key factor behind this success was the high-quality raw materials supplied for free by Mr. Zhang, ensuring that the cakes stood out in both taste and presentation.
Within a short period, the cake shop had not only recouped its initial investment but also turned a modest profit—a feat that was almost frightening when one thought about how fast it had happened.
Of course, to Lin Yuan, the money earned was nothing more than a drop in the ocean.
What truly pleased him, however, was the clear demonstration of Qiu Wanxi's ability and potential.
"Master, would it be okay if I returned one hundred thousand first and reserved some of the remaining funds for store promotion and product research?" Qiu Wanxi asked hesitantly.
Now that the shop was making money, she had already started thinking about repaying Lin Yuan for the investment he had provided to help establish Hope Cake Shop.
Lin Yuan hadn't given much thought to getting his money back, but he understood that Qiu Wanxi was always grateful. She never wanted to be a burden to him, always seeking ways to support him in return.
Seeing her sincerity, Lin Yuan chuckled and nodded.
"Of course, you can return one hundred thousand for now," he agreed, then suddenly smirked. "But... you'll need to offer me something in exchange."
As he spoke, his hands playfully roamed, teasing her.
Feeling his touch, Qiu Wanxi's entire body stiffened, her temperature rising rapidly. Her cheeks flushed a deep shade of red as waves of heat spread through her skin. It was as if she had been set on fire, making her breath quicken and her hands tremble slightly.
Yet, despite the overwhelming sensations, she made no attempt to resist.
In her heart, she firmly believed that everything she had—her body, her soul, her very existence—belonged to Lin Yuan.
No matter what he wanted to do with her, she would accept it without hesitation.
However, Lin Yuan knew when to stop.
Since Xiao Lian and Xiao He were still in the store, he withdrew his hands with a chuckle, enjoying the adorable sight of Qiu Wanxi struggling to catch her breath, her face glowing with embarrassment.
"Right! Young Master, I made a new cake. Can you help me taste it?" she suddenly asked, her voice carrying a hint of nervous excitement.
Lin Yuan raised an eyebrow, amused by her attempt to change the subject. "Of course," he replied with a smirk.
Qiu Wanxi quickly ran off and soon returned with a cake in her hands.
The moment he saw it, Lin Yuan's eyes lit up.
The cake was bright, vibrant, and intricately designed. It had a unique rainbow shape with a structure unlike anything he had seen before.
"Oh, the shape is really nice," he praised.
Hearing his compliment, Qiu Wanxi's face brightened, her lips curling into a proud smile.
"This design came to me last night when I was thinking about you, Young Master," she confessed shyly. "I was certain it would turn out beautifully, so I decided to make it. But because of its rainbow shape, there's a small missing piece in the middle, which slightly reduces its weight."
She paused before adding, "Although I didn't use many ingredients to make this cake, shaping it was quite tricky. Because of that, I'm not sure how to price it."
Lin Yuan chuckled and shook his head.
"Most people buy cakes based on how they look and the emotions they evoke. Hardly anyone buys a cake just to fill their stomach," he said confidently. "Since this one is so visually appealing, just set the price as high as you think you can get away with—it will definitely sell."
Qiu Wanxi nodded seriously. "Okay, I'll follow Young Master's advice."
After a moment, Lin Yuan added, "But remember, appearance alone isn't enough. It also has to taste good if you want customers to keep coming back."
Qiu Wanxi giggled. "Then… let Wanxi feed you a piece," she offered shyly, her courage gathering as she blushed furiously.
Lin Yuan was momentarily stunned by her boldness before laughing heartily.
"Alright," he agreed. "But if it doesn't taste good… you know what will happen."
"O-Okay…" Qiu Wanxi stammered, her heartbeat accelerating. Carefully, she picked up a small piece and brought it to Lin Yuan's lips.
Lin Yuan took a bite, chewing slowly, savoring the flavors.
"Not bad," he commented after a moment. "The taste is well-balanced. I can detect both sweetness and a slight tartness."
Qiu Wanxi's smile widened in satisfaction.
"But compared to the cake," Lin Yuan added with a teasing glint in his eyes, "you are much sweeter."
Qiu Wanxi gasped softly, her heart skipping a beat at his words.
Then, without warning, Lin Yuan leaned in, closing the distance between them.
Their lips met, the taste of the sweet and sour cake lingering between them, but it was quickly overshadowed by something much more intoxicating.
Suddenly, Qiu Wanxi moaned upon hearing Lin Yuan's remark.
Then she tasted the sweet and sour cake with Lin Yuan.
"Hmm… Compared to the cake, the young master is also very sweeter." As she spoke their lips met again.
Their hands began to roam, their breaths mingling as they melted into each other's embrace.
Meanwhile, Xiao Lian and Xiao He, who had just entered the shop, stumbled upon the intimate scene.
Their eyes widened.
"Gulp…"
"Shhh!"
The two innocent girls couldn't help but swallow nervously.
"You're not allowed to look!" Xiao Lian hurriedly covered Xiao He's eyes.
"You're the kid here! You shouldn't be looking either!" Xiao He huffed, covering Xiao Lian's eyes in retaliation.
But after a few seconds, they both slyly parted their fingers, peeking through the gaps to steal another glance.
The more they watched, the redder their faces became. They remained frozen in place, captivated for nearly eight whole minutes before Lin Yuan and Qiu Wanxi finally separated.
Lin Yuan, ever composed, acted as if nothing had happened, flashing an amused smile.
Qiu Wanxi, however, was completely flustered.
She had been so immersed just now that she forgot where they were.
Seeing the two girls still staring in shock, she let out a small cry of embarrassment before turning on her heel and fleeing.
"Hey!" she squeaked in shame, disappearing behind the counter.
Lin Yuan chuckled, utterly unbothered.
Xiao Lian and Xiao He, meanwhile, stood there blankly, their faces still burning red.
