Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Undying Demon Blood

After daybreak, he went outside to the courtyard and began to manipulate the copper tripod, long spear, sharp sword, and long bow.

After practicing for half a day, he came to a conclusion that his strength had been enhanced significantly after last night's medicinal bath, turning his previously fragile body much stronger.

"Just a few more days of hard work, and I should be able to bring forth a Heavenly Dragon Martial Soul!"

Duan Gujin was utterly convinced of this.

Confidence is also one of the weapons a cultivator uses to overcome their enemies.

Only with strong confidence, when facing a powerful enemy, can one remain calm and turn the tide of battle.

Duan Gujin knew that although the Duan Family he was in seemed to be safe, it was actually fraught with crises, surrounded by hidden dangers.

He was well aware that in any place, under any circumstances, as long as there were people, there would be a worldly society rife with struggles for power.

To avoid becoming a victim of power struggles, one must possess great strength.

In any world that preaches "survival of the fittest," having the strongest fist is the only truth.

The Primordial Power within Duan Gujin was flowing slowly. His physical state was now more than ten times stronger than when he was first reborn in this body.

Yet he knew that even if his body was now more than a hundred times stronger than yesterday, compared to those true powerhouses, his body was still as weak as an ant.

The continuous changes in Duan Gujin's aura astonished many martial artists of the Duan Family—they couldn't understand how that formerly insignificant Duan Gujin could exude such an unfathomable presence.

Although they initially felt it odd, because Duan Gujin used to be too mediocre.

So, they did not take his transformation to heart.

Gradually, the once feeble-bodied Duan Gujin became stronger and tougher.

Ten days later, many cultivators of the Duan Family had a startling realization—that Duan Gujin had become a man with a strong and sturdy body.

"What's going on here? Could he have taken some potent tonic?"

Many cultivators pondered, ultimately attributing Duan Gujin's change to his mother.

They all knew that Duan Gujin's mother usually prepared many tonics for him; maybe now was the time when those tonics started to take effect.

Indeed, with the stimulants of those tonics, Duan Gujin could quickly enhance his physique.

However, under normal conditions, a cultivator shouldn't over-indulge in tonics, as it could bring severe consequences for their future cultivation.

Even some cultivators from the Duan Family speculated maliciously that if this was indeed true, then Duan Gujin's mother had good intentions but did something dreadful, essentially destroying his future!

Others dismissed it, believing that since Duan Gujin had always been extremely ordinary before, he wouldn't amount to much in the future either.

As the days passed by, soon, Duan Gujin had consolidated his foundation, cultivating to the First Level of the Undying Heart Bone.

A foundation is very important for a martial artist.

Other cultivators might have felt some changes in Duan Gujin, but only he himself knew very clearly what significant changes had occurred in him.

Only he could profoundly experience the change within himself—his body was now incomprehensibly stronger than before.

After cultivating the Undying Heart Bone, the Martial Soul Flames that were once as faint as fireflies in his body, almost snuffed out, had grown to the size of lanterns.

A formidable amount of Primordial Power had coalesced within him, and his once frail meridians had expanded more than tenfold.

This meant that his speed of channeling Primordial Power would be at least ten times faster than before, and the Martial Soul Power within his body had greatly increased.

A day later, while immersed in cultivation, he suddenly found a peculiar set of memories surfacing in his mind.

"What is this? Undying Demon Blood? How is this possible? The Undying Demon Blood was only cultivated by the Ultimate Demon Emperor after centuries of dedication! How could I possess his bloodline?"

Reading the special memory, Duan Gujin's face paled, and a shock swept through his heart.

Feeling the emergence of the Undying Demon Blood within his body, Duan Gujin's complexion drastically changed once more, filled with alarm—it was his first time experiencing the Undying Demon Blood, and he now realized its terrifying nature.

He had always longed for the Undying Demon Blood of the Ultimate Demon Emperor, but he had never imagined that he would obtain it in such a way.

"How could this be? How could I possibly possess the Ultimate Demon Emperor's Undying Demon Blood?"

He was utterly shaken, finding the situation incredibly far-fetched.

The Undying Demon Blood, which took the Ultimate Demon Emperor centuries to cultivate, was now easily in his possession?

Moments later, Duan Gujin felt a turbulent surge of thought explosively emerge within him; the three hundred and sixty acupoints across his body rotated violently at high speed, generating a powerful suction that absorbed the Life Essence of all nearby living creatures.

Now residing in a secluded courtyard of the Duan Family, no expert from the family had detected anything unusual happening here.

Shortly afterward, Duan Gujin in the courtyard sensed that the trees around him had been stripped of their Life Essence by the released suction.

Seeing the trees devoid of Life Essence, Duan Gujin was greatly shocked; he had no desire to become a true Demon Emperor!

However, the Undying Demon Blood within him now made it impossible for him to control the rapid rotation of the acupoints in his body.

If his current level of Cultivation were not so rudimentary, he might have been able to devour all life within ten, or even a hundred kilometers around, to oblivion!

And it was this terrifying devouring ability that constituted the horror of the Ultimate Demon Emperor.

As long as the Ultimate Demon Emperor was not completely destroyed by his enemies, he could rapidly regain his strength by cruelly absorbing the Life Essence of all surrounding living creatures.

Undoubtedly, all those creatures whose Life Essence he devoured would perish.

Duan Gujin's face turned ashen; he attempted to regain control of his body, but despite running his Cultivation Technique repeatedly and making various attempts, he ultimately failed.

"My God, how could my body have taken in the Undying Demon Blood of the Limitless Venerable?"

Fortunately, the sudden eruption of the Undying Demon Blood in his body was brief and didn't bring catastrophic damage to the nearby living creatures.

But the suction he had previously released already devoured the Life Essence of all living creatures within a hundred meters radius.

After a while, he noticed that each of the thirty-six acupoints in his body had high-speed Qi vortices, which increased the capacity of the three hundred and sixty acupoints and made the rotating speed of these vortices incredibly fast, leaving him dumbfounded.

With a slight frown, he realized what the increased capacity of the three hundred and sixty acupoints in his body, along with the high-speed rotation of the Qi vortices within, meant.
