As the most talented successor of the Holy Family's current generation, Yue Zhengyu was truly feeling frustrated these past two days.
Just last night, he was punished at Shrek Academy for attacking a Fallen Angel soul master. Then, he immediately came across the infuriating "Heavenly Fox Carefree Chronicles."
He knew that Xia Yi was also a victim, just a pawn used by the Holy Spirit Cult to disgust the various major organizations and families.
But he still couldn't help wanting to teach Xia Yi a lesson, especially after seeing how arrogant Xia Yi was. It made him even more intolerant.
The Holy Angel Martial Soul had always been one of the most powerful martial souls on the continent.
As the heir of the Holy Family, Yue Zhengyu had immense confidence in his own strength.
The moment school ended, he set his sights on Xia Yi.
However, Yuanen Yehui beat him to it.
The misunderstanding between him and Yuanen Yehui from the previous night still hadn't been cleared up.
That's why he intentionally waited until Yuanen Yehui left before stepping forward.
"It's none of your business whether I'm capable or not." Yue Zhengyu snorted coldly and walked away.
If it weren't for the fact that he wanted to challenge Xia Yi, he wouldn't even bother meeting him.
Just seeing Xia Yi reminded him of those unbearable scenes from "Heavenly Fox Carefree Chronicles."
Xia Yi didn't get angry. He turned to Xie Xie and asked, "So, what's your deal? Are you here to challenge me, or do you want me to help you teach someone a lesson?"
"How many contribution points would it take to challenge you?" Xie Xie asked stiffly, feeling quite wronged. It was bad enough that every time he challenged Tang Wulin, he lost, got beaten up, and had to treat Tang Wulin to a meal.
But now, even challenging Xia Yi required contribution points.
"Five hundred for you," Xia Yi said casually, shaking his head. "It's just a flick of the wrist, so I won't overcharge you."
He genuinely couldn't figure out which screw was loose in Xie Xie's head for him to come challenging.
"Five hundred!" Xie Xie didn't know whether to laugh or cry. That was half of what Wu Siduo paid, and only a third of what Yuanen Yehui offered.
"What, too little? If you want to pay more, I'm happy to accept," Xia Yi remarked indifferently.
"No!" Xie Xie quickly shook his head. He had just entered Shrek Academy and was fined heavily for peeping on Yuanen Yehui last night.
Although he had a year to pay it off, his secondary profession was only at the second rank.
There was no way he could earn enough contribution points in a year, so he would have to rely on his family and exchange Federation coins with other students.
His family was quite well-off in Eastsea City, but they were nothing compared to the Holy Family.
The last thing he wanted was to add more burden on his family right now.
"Five hundred it is, but I have one request," Xie Xie said after taking a deep breath.
"Requests? Five hundred doesn't buy you the right to make requests," Xia Yi flatly refused.
Yue Zhengyu could make requests because he paid five thousand.
But this guy wanted to haggle with a measly five hundred.
"It's not an unreasonable request. I just want to be the first to challenge you tonight," Xie Xie said solemnly.
Xia Yi raised an eyebrow, a playful smile appearing on his lips. "Don't tell me you like Wu Siduo and want to drain my soul power for her?"
Xie Xie was startled. He didn't expect Xia Yi to see through his intentions with such a minor request.
But it wasn't for Wu Siduo; it was for Yuanen Yehui.
Thankfully, Xia Yi didn't know about his peeping incident. Otherwise, he'd have figured out his true motive.
"That's none of your business. Just answer me—yes or no?" Xie Xie demanded coldly.
"No." Xia Yi shook his head. "I'm not going to offend several big clients just for a small one like you. If you really want to be first, then go negotiate with Wu Siduo and the others. If they're willing to let you go first, I have no objections."
"Fine. You said it," Xie Xie replied, taking a deep breath before turning to leave.
He stood up only after seeing Yuanen Yehui challenge Xia Yi.
Even knowing he couldn't win, he still wanted to help Yuanen Yehui exhaust some of Xia Yi's soul power.
He could go talk to Wu Siduo and Yue Zhengyu, but he had no idea how to face Yuanen Yehui.
After all, she probably wanted to rip him to shreds right now.
"Count me in, but I don't have any contribution points," a cold voice came from behind Xia Yi.
"Uh..." Xia Yi's mouth twitched. He really couldn't bring himself to charge Gu Yue.
"What, are you scared?" Gu Yue asked calmly.
After seeing Xia Yi's strength last night, she had initially decided not to challenge him.
But his arrogance today made her reconsider.
After all, they had agreed to this duel back in Eastsea City.
If she backed down now, he might think she was scared.
"Scared? Me? Since when have I ever been scared? Fine, let's fight. Why would I be scared?" Xia Yi turned to look at Gu Yue. To him, she was even scarier than Wu Siduo, Yue Zhengyu, or Yuanen Yehui.
Just how much strength she would show likely depended on how much she was willing to reveal.
"Good," Gu Yue smiled, curious to see just how strong Xia Yi really was.
"Count me in too," Wu Jin chimed in, his voice cold. "I don't have any contribution points either."
"When did you learn to be as shameless as Gu Yue?" Xia Yi asked, genuinely surprised. Wu Jin was always so serious and reserved.
"It's not Gu Yue I learned from—it's you," Wu Jin replied bluntly, not sparing Xia Yi's pride.
"Haha, being shameless makes one invincible. A thick skin is a skill too," Xia Yi said shamelessly, clearly proud of himself.
"Are you staying in the work-study dorms now?" Gu Yue asked.
"Why, want to join me? It's pretty boring living alone," Xia Yi replied with a grin.
Gu Yue rolled her eyes and said nothing. Didn't he understand the concept of men and women living separately?
"Alright, I'll move in tonight," Wu Jin agreed without hesitation.
Now, he could already control the wraiths within him and prevent them from affecting his roommates.
However, until he completely resolved the issue of the wraiths inside him, Xia Yi remained crucial to his cultivation.
"What about you?" Xia Yi looked at Gu Yue and said, "I'm not joking. There are many vacant dorms in the working-student area. The one right next to mine is empty. If we just break the lock, you can live there."
"Break the lock? Aren't you afraid of being punished?" Gu Yue asked curiously.
"Punishment is just punishment. I don't care. What are they gonna do, kick me out of Shrek Academy? I'll break the lock for you, and I'll cover the rent too. How about that?" Xia Yi said nonchalantly.
Anyone with a discerning eye could tell that Yun Ming letting Xia Yi into Shrek Academy after what happened yesterday was just a way to placate him.
They said it was to make up for Xia Yi, but in reality, they were just afraid he'd camp out at the gates of Shrek Academy and refuse to leave.
If Xia Yi really stayed outside Shrek Academy for days, weeks, or even months, and they couldn't find anyone to defeat him, the academy's reputation would be utterly ruined.
Right now, if Shrek Academy dared to expel Xia Yi, he'd probably just set up a challenge platform at the entrance.
This was something the higher-ups at Shrek Academy couldn't ignore.
Yuanen Yehui and Yue Zhengyu believed they could defeat Xia Yi, partly because they were extremely confident in their own abilities.
But another reason was that they didn't understand what it meant for Xia Yi to escape from a trap set by the top level of Shrek Academy.
That was a spiritual interference at the peak of the Spirit Domain realm. Although the person behind the scenes only used a sliver of spiritual power, even Shen Yi couldn't break free from it.
By the time she regained her senses, it was exactly when the one targeting Xia Yi had planned for her to.
Yet Xia Yi managed to break free on his own.
Just that alone was enough to make the high-level figures at Shrek Academy wary of him.
"Fine." Gu Yue finally agreed.
Soon, Gu Yue and Wu Jin followed Xia Yi to the working-student dormitory. The moment they saw it, they regretted agreeing to come.
"Don't worry, I already posted a task in the mission hall, offering a hundred contribution points for cleaning up and fixing the windows," Xia Yi quickly explained.
"You are loaded," Gu Yue shook her head helplessly.
