As the members of the Holy Spirit Cult and the Green Skull Organization retreated, Yali wasted no time. She descended from the sky and immediately began treating the civilians who had been affected by the recent battle.
Leng Yaozhu and Leng Yulei also joined in right away.
"Yaozhu, you know medical skills too, just like your sister?" Yali looked at Leng Yaozhu in surprise, her beautiful eyes filled with shock.
She had been rivals with Leng Yaozhu for years, yet they also considered each other half a confidant. She never expected Leng Yaozhu to have hidden this ability so well.
Leng Yaozhu glanced at Yali and said indifferently, "When I arrived at the Blood God Legion, the battle between them and the Abyss had just ended. The entire legion was filled with corpses and wounded soldiers. The military doctors couldn't handle the overwhelming number of injuries, so I taught myself some basic medical skills and temporarily served as a field medic for a while."
Hearing the mention of the Blood God Legion, Yali lowered her head in guilt.
She knew exactly what had happened to the Blood God Legion.
Back then, she had wanted to go there as well.
But she didn't dare to.
She had heard that during this Abyssal invasion, over one-third of the Blood God Legion had perished, and countless others had been severely or lightly injured.
Many had been forced to retire due to the severity of their wounds.
The Federation's most elite Blood God Legion had practically been shattered overnight.
Now, most of the current Blood God Legion consisted of soldiers temporarily transferred from other corps.
Even so, the Blood God Legion was still in dire need of reinforcements and was actively recruiting Soul Emperors and higher-level soul masters.
To replenish their forces as quickly as possible, the admission tests had been significantly relaxed.
Yali didn't dare to go to the Blood God Legion. She feared that once she saw its devastation with her own eyes, she would never be able to forgive Yun Ming.
That was why she had come to the Star Luo Continent instead.
One reason was to protect the students of Shrek Academy. The other was to force herself to forget about it.
Only this way could she convince herself to forgive Yun Ming.
The tragedy of the Blood God Legion had already touched her deepest limits.
But she truly didn't want there to be any rift between herself and Yun Ming, so this was the only choice she had.
She never expected to run into Leng Yaozhu here in Star Luo City—someone who had already gone to the Blood God Legion.
Originally, Yali had wanted to ask Leng Yaozhu for the Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon's medical chapter again, but after hearing this, she no longer had the face to bring it up.
After all, the Blood God Legion's suffering had all been caused by her husband.
Yet she, the strongest healing-type soul master in history, hadn't even gone to see them.
Meanwhile, Leng Yaozhu had, in a way, cleaned up after them.
What right did Yali have to ask Leng Yaozhu for medical skills?
Leng Yaozhu didn't dwell on Yali's reaction. Instead, she turned and walked toward a little girl trapped under some rubble.
Several people were already trying to rescue her.
But the disaster had happened so suddenly that the Star Luo Empire's rescue teams were severely understaffed.
In many areas, only local civilians and some contestants from the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Elite Tournament were helping out.
But there simply weren't enough hands.
In this particular area, there weren't any soul masters—just a few ordinary people.
Lacking any machinery, they were powerless before the massive concrete ceiling slab pressing down on the little girl's head.
The girl's parents tried digging a tunnel from the side, hoping she could crawl out.
But as soon as they moved a stone, the ceiling slab slid further down.
Though it didn't crush the girl, a steel rod fell and pierced her right leg.
Seeing Leng Yaozhu arrive, the little girl's parents immediately dropped to their knees before her.
"Soul master, please, save our daughter! We beg you!" They clung to Leng Yaozhu's clothes, pleading desperately.
Earlier, they had begged a passing rescue team for help, but the rescuers ignored them and rushed toward the dormitory district housing the tournament contestants instead.
Aside from the Douluo Continent delegation staying at the Star Luo Hotel and contestants from places like Monster Academy who lived in Star Luo City, most competitors had been assigned dedicated dorms.
That area was precisely where Divine Realm Douluo En Ci and the Ghost Emperor had fought.
Dai Tianling's order had been clear: Save the tournament contestants at all costs.
"Don't worry, I'm here to save her."
Leng Yaozhu raised her hand gently, and the concrete slab over the girl's head was lifted into the air.
Seeing the steel rod impaling the girl's right leg, Leng Yaozhu patted her head and said softly, "Bear with it, this will hurt a bit."
"I'm not afraid of pain, big sister."
Despite her face being covered in dust from the rubble, the little girl's large eyes were clear and bright.
Hearing a child who looked no older than three call her "big sister," Leng Yaozhu's vanity swelled with satisfaction. A proud smile appeared on her jade-like face as she glanced toward the Star Luo Hotel.
"He's here!"
Xia Yi descended swiftly, landing beside Leng Yaozhu.
"Are you ready?" Leng Yaozhu asked.
"Ready," Xia Yi nodded.
"One, two, three!"
With a light pull, Leng Yaozhu extracted the steel rod from the girl's leg.
"Stellar Shift"
Before the girl could react, Xia Yi cast Stellar Shift on her wounded leg.
Before a single drop of blood could spill, the wound was completely healed.
"It doesn't hurt anymore!"
The little girl looked at her now-healed leg in surprise. She tried standing and jumped twice, feeling no pain at all.
"It really doesn't hurt! Big brother, big sister, you're amazing!"
Then, as if on instinct, she added, "Unlike that shameless Xia Yi, who only knows how to slack off and take shortcuts."
"Xiao Xiao! Don't say such things!" Her mother turned pale with fright and quickly covered the girl's mouth. She immediately fell to her knees before Leng Yaozhu.
"Your Excellency Heavenly Phoenix, my daughter is still young and doesn't understand. If you must blame someone, blame me. It's my fault for not raising her properly!"
"Shameless Xia Yi…"
Leng Yaozhu murmured under her breath before breaking into a sly smile. She gently took the little girl from her mother's hands and asked, "Tell me, who did you hear say Xia Yi was shameless?"
"I heard my parents say it," the girl answered innocently.
Her response shocked her parents, but she remained oblivious, looking up at Leng Yaozhu.
"Big sister, are you really Heavenly Douluo? The wife of Shameless Xia Yi?"
"Big sister is indeed," Leng Yaozhu replied, laughing.
The little girl glanced at Xia Yi, then turned back to Leng Yaozhu.
"Big sister, you're so pretty! Shameless Xia Yi is so despicable and underhanded—he doesn't deserve you at all! You shouldn't be with him! Be with big brother instead. Big brother is kind and handsome, just like you. You two would definitely be happy together!"
"Alright, big sister will listen to you. From now on, I'll be with big brother."
Leng Yaozhu giggled as she pinched the little girl's cheek and handed her back to her mother.
Then, as soon as she turned around, she burst into uncontrollable laughter, completely losing her composure.
She laughed so hard she could barely stand, completely ignoring Xia Yi's darkened expression.
"Shameless one, just what kind of outrageous things have you done?" Leng Yaozhu asked curiously, looking like a mischievous child.
"Hmph! That's just Star Luo Empire citizens being jealous of my strength and handsomeness, slandering me out of spite!" Xia Yi grumbled before heading toward another injured civilian.
"I just love how shameless you are," Leng Yaozhu laughed as she chased after him, giggling all the way.
Meanwhile, as Yali continued healing others, she let out a soft sigh.
She couldn't help but feel a little envious of Leng Yaozhu.
