[~1300 Words]
The duo hastily gathered their belongings.
Eri thought for a second and poured the coffee from the table directly onto Takuya's pants.
Takuya whispered, "What are you doing?", He was confused. 'Why did she pour the coffee on his pants?'
"Quickly, take a shower and I will invent an alibi by claiming I accidentally spilled coffee on your pants."
Eri nudged Takuya directly into the bathroom.
His astonishment turned to admiration for Eri's intelligence and cunning.
The system reward was likely excellent. It had undoubtedly enhanced Eri's cognitive abilities. In such a brief period, Eri had concocted an excuse and implemented it based on her surroundings.
He was in Eri's room at the time, so how could he deceive Mouri Kogoro and Mouri Ran without devising an explanation?
He could not claim that he had come to repair the air conditioner or that he had fallen from upstairs and happened to land on the balcony and inadvertently stained his clothes.
Eri had efficiently packed up and cleaned the area where they had just been intimate. She then strolled over to open the door.
Outside their Balcony , Mouri Ran waited for three minutes but no one came to answer the door.
"Is Mom not home?" she inquired.
"Is she eating outside now? After all, it is her birthday, and she cannot cook.", Mouri Kogoro made a snide remark, because was disheartened. He appeared to dislike her on the surface, but he genuinely cherished her in his heart.
Eri was positioned just behind the door when she overheard Mouri Kogoro's remark. Her anger and irritation became palpable as she seethed inwardly. He had the audacity to mock her cooking skills, which were, in fact, quite poor.
Snap ...
The door swung open, revealing Mouri Ran with a look of surprise on her face, while Mouri Kogoro appeared embarrassed. He didn't know whether Eri had overheard his comment or not.
"Mom, have you eaten yet?" Mouri Ran inquired.
"Not yet," Eri replied hastily. "I've just returned from work and was about to order some takeout."
Eri's mind instantly turned to Takuya. It was all due to that Takuya who only knew how to create trouble and waste her time. Well, maybe not waste.
"Then I shall cook for you," Mouri Ran took the initiative to enter the house, with Mouri Kogoro following shamefacedly behind.
As for the disparaging remarks he had uttered earlier, it mattered not whether Eri had overheard them or not. He merely needed to feign ignorance of his own words.
Mmmmm!
In the bathroom, there was the sound of running water, and Takuya was singing in a low melodious voice.
Eri's countenance turned dark. She spilled coffee, thereby creating an alibi for Takuya.
But was it necessary for him to sing?
He even sang with abandon, giving people the impression that the two of them were living together.
Although they had not yet cohabited, their actions (Making Love) seemed indistinguishable from those of a married couple.
Mouri Ran and Mouri Kogoro both froze in their tracks.
They appeared to have heard singing, a man's singing, from the bathroom.
The melody was cheerful, and the person singing seemed to be in an excellent mood.
As for why they were in such a high spirits, they both were not quite certain, but they had a feeling of unease.
"Mother, who is at home?" Mouri Ran inquired hastily.
Mouri Kogoro's expression turned furious as he glared at Eri with angry eyes.
There was someone else in his wife's house, and that person was taking a shower inside. He had never utilised the bathroom before; another person had reached there first.
Moreover, it occurred in the evening after work; a man and woman were alone in a room, and the man was taking a shower.
The following narrative resembles those educational films. Fuck, he was feeling like having a Green hat on him.
"It is a friend of mine," Eri explained calmly. "I accidentally spilled Coffee on him while we were working. He has mysophobia, so I asked him to take a shower first."
Eri was panicking internally but appeared serene, still acting like a queen.
Regardless of how nervous she was, she needed to deceive Mouri Ran and Mouri Kogoro first.
"Friend? Male or female?", Mouri Ran inquired urgently.
Mouri Kogoro perked up his ears, still attempting to feign nonchalance despite his evident discomfort.
"He's a male friend," Kisaki Eri replied calmly.
Male - male...
Mouri Kogoro felt as though an icepick had pierced through his heart and was deeply wounded.
There was someone new in his wife's house, and he couldn't fathom why she would even entertain such a notion.
Just as Mouri Ran was about to respond, she noticed Kisaki Eri sitting beside the sofa with a puddle of coffee spilled near her.
It was possible that Ran had overthought the situation. Yes, it was true - perhaps Eri wasn't the kind of person who would engage in such behavior.
Mouri Ran conjured up an image in her mind - she imagined a scene where a male friend arrived at her mom's home, and when Eri poured coffee, she accidentally spilled it on the guest due to her trembling hands.
Eri had successfully anticipated what Mouri Ran was thinking.
"Dad, come and help Mom clean up this mess. I'll go prepare dinner," Mouri Ran suggested.
When Mouri heard his daughter's words, he saw the coffee spill on the sofa as well and used his imagination to deduce the situation.
It must have been merely a misunderstanding - Eri hadn't betrayed him. He shouldn't have misread her intentions.
However, if only he had arrived earlier, he could have detected the telltale signs of their interaction. It was clear that Takuya and Eri shared a deeper connection.
Takuya exited the bathroom, still humming his tune as he entered the living area where Mouri Ran had prepared dinner for them.
Before him lay a veritable feast of broccoli, greens, and green peppers - all predominantly green in color. Mouri Ran had undoubtedly chosen these ingredients to emphasize Mouri Kogoro's affinity with the color green.
Eri pretended not to notice Takuya as he entered the room.
On the other hand, it was Mouri Kogoro who kept staring fixedly at Takuya, his eyes blazing with an unmistakable intent - Fury.
He couldn't bring himself to believe that Eri had indeed betrayed him. Instead, he focused on Takuya's presence in his wife's house and the fact that they were alone together just before he arrived.
This was his first time entering this apartment, let alone never entered Eri's bathroom. The mere thought sent shivers down his spine.
"Officer Fujiwara?" Mouri Ran exclaimed upon spotting him.
Mouri Kogoro felt as though he had been punched in the gut - was this someone from his past. "Police?"
Eri's face turned bright red with embarrassment as she offered an apologetic smile, recalling their earlier interaction. "I'm so sorry for getting your clothes dirty, Officer Fujiwara. I will've them washed and will try my best to have them dry by tonight and send it to you."
Takuya maintained a gentlemanly demeanor.
When Mouri Kogoro observed Takuya's expression, he felt even more infuriated - why had his wife speaking to him in such a respectable terms?
He was unaware that she harbored feelings for that man, Takuya Fujiwara.
