After the failed execution attempt, things weren't the same in Runedral. Three factions had formed within the empire.
First were the traditional fools who wanted to follow old laws to the tee. To them, it didn't matter what Aaran had done. They didn't care about the goddess who supported him or the divine power he used. He was a necromancer, and that was all they could see and wanted him dead.
Second were the temple loyalists. Surprisingly, these people, who were the high priest's blind followers, were on Aaran's side. All because he had a goddess's support. That proved his credibility over anything Trantua or the temples could say.
And last were those who just didn't care about it. These were practical people who worried about putting food on their table and wasteful taxes more than anything else. For them, every topic was reduced into two categories, if it could help them or not.
