Arin looked at Ragna. "Did I scare you?"
"Are ya mad?" she laughed. "It was just awesome!"
He was afraid Ragna would get scared or disturbed, but she wasn't.
Arin, Ragna, and the two Ghouls walked ahead on the narrow path. Gradually, they found out that the interior path was not as dark as the initial entrance.
There were no torches, glowing crystals, or glowing mushrooms—no light source at all. Still, the path ahead was well lit, which they couldn't understand.
Although it was also a fact that the illumination was not too great for normal creatures like Ragna, offering only twilight-like visibility.
Suddenly, a terrible laugh in a feminine voice echoed through the corridor.
"Look who are here," the feminine voice taunted them. "Two sheep who have strayed far from their pack."
The voice echoed in such a way that they couldn't locate its origin.
"If you want to live, you can go back," the voice said. "I have grown fond of you two; I will let you two leave!"
