Zikar laughed. "You thought I gave him back-to-back promotions on a whim? I noticed his potential and only then did I upgrade his rank—twice!"
Aedric, eager to change the subject, feigned annoyance. "I hope your people have no intention of disrespecting my house. Just look at them!" He quickly left the room.
Zikar frowned at the two uncultured brutes. They had been invited by the most prominent noble of the city for dinner, and yet, instead of resting or preparing for the night, they were getting dirty in an unnecessary argument. Mildly scolding them, he sent them to freshen up and relax.
