The barbecue party turned out to be just as fun for the kids, who remained unaware of the ordeal their Miss had to face. Their guardians glanced up as they caught sight of Layla being carried in bridal style by Michael.
She felt embarrassed, feeling their eyes on her. Earlier, she had tried to console Michael and make him understand, but he was hellbent on taking care of her, and he restricted her from walking a single step.
Michael strode past them, taking long steps, completely unfazed by their amused glances. There were a few male guardians too, but he was thoughtful enough to wrap Layla in a thick towel, covering the sight of her wet dress sticking to her body, accentuating every one of her dips and curves.
"Miss," Dia chimed in and followed Michael, who was in no mood to stop. Layla's eyes softened looking at the little girl, her concerned gaze warmed her heart; she actually cared for her.
