Inside, Marcus had retrieved a length of cable from a nearby shelf and was wrapping it around Christina's wrists. "When they find you, you'll have had an unfortunate accident. Happens sometimes in old buildings—faulty wiring, poor lighting."
Christina fought through the pain, struggling against his restraints. "They'll know it was you."
"Will they?" Marcus smiled coldly. "The security logs will show I was conducting rounds on the executive floor. No cameras down here to say otherwise."
The door suddenly burst open, wood splintering around the lock as Liam crashed through. He took in the scene in an instant—Christina on the floor, face bloodied, Marcus kneeling over her with the cable.
Marcus reacted immediately, abandoning Christina to face the new threat. He rushed at Liam with the confidence of someone accustomed to physical confrontation.
