Chapter 7 - Chaos Sutra: Birth of the Red Devil(1)

Aqualis is one of the 9 empires of Celestia and Tidevale is a small fisherman village situated on the shores of Tidevale Sea.

At this time, inside a wooden hut, a boy around the age of 7 was lying on a wooden bed with a green paste of herbal medicine on his head and chest area.

There was also a hand-woven blanket covering his lower body from the waist.

Suddenly, the boy who remained on the bed motionless until now opened his eyes in a seemingly confused manner.

"Where am I?" Alvin muttered to himself as he tried to sit up, but failed to do so because of the lack of strength in his body.

"Pang"

As Alvin tried to sit up, a metal glass placed near his head fell down on the floor, spilling the floor with a green herbal paste.

"Ah, you are awake, thank God I thought you wouldn't make it." Upon hearing the sound of the glass falling to the ground, an old man walked into the room and said in surprise as he saw Alvin had opened his eyes.

"Lay there obediently boy, your body was affected by extreme cold and dehydration due to being exposed to the sea for a long time."

"When the fisherman brought you here yesterday you were already pale as a ghost. It took me a considerable amount of costly herbs to drag you back to life. Rest until your body is fully healed, after all we still have to talk about the fees of your treatment."

After saying that, the old man left the room with an annoyed look on his face.

Alvin was taken aback by the old man's words, but as he thought calmly, everything became clear to him.

'Those bastards from the Newgate might have thrown me into the sea. Luckily some fisherman found my body and brought me here. And this old man, judging from the smell of herbs in the room and the way he spoke, he is likely a traditional doctor.'

After thinking it through, Alvin decided to lay quietly on the wooden bed, as every time he tried to stand up he felt a sharp pain from his back from where his divine bone was extracted.

After a while, unknowingly, Alvin once again fell asleep due to the pent-up fatigue in his body.

At night, he opened his eyes to the sound of someone's footsteps in the room.

Opening his eyes, he saw the old man from before standing near his bed with a polite grin.

Alvin nearly got goosebumps after seeing this creepy look on the old man's face.

Seeing Alvin's reaction, the old man chuckled, "Ah, young master, this old man had checked your storage ring just now to see if there is a way to contact your parents, but it's a pity there is only some miscellaneous stuff. Can you tell me a way to contact your family?"

As he said this, the old man pulled out his smartphone from his pocket, ready to contact Alvin's parents.

He had earlier checked Alvin's storage ring and found quite a number of valuable things inside. Looking at this, it was not hard to realize that Alvin's background was not that simple.

' for rescuing the life of this brat, the reward from his family wouldn't be anything small.' , the old man thought to himself.

Alvin stared blankly at the old man after hearing what he said. The only memory of this world he had was of the night when the Newgate members attacked the villa. All the rest of his memory was incomplete, and there was no way he could find his family with only that.

"I... I don't remember anything, I don't know anything about my family..." Alvin said while pretending to be having a headache as he tried to think about his family.

The old man frowned upon seeing this. He touched Alvin's head, and after some time he said in a low voice, "Soul damage, and it appears it is inflicted by a human."

the old man's face changed as he thought about something,

"I will be taking this black dagger from your storage ring in return for saving your life. Now get lost from here, I don't have the time or patience to babysit you," he said impatiently as he took a black dagger from Alvin's storage ring and threw the storage ring to Alvin's side.

"I will leave, let me stay here until I can move around. Although I am not sure about the exact price of that dagger, I am sure it can cover this much expense also," Alvin said to the old man after remaining silent for some time.

He was well aware that the old man was afraid of the man who had damaged his soul and was now trying to get rid of him. But he had to stay here at least until the day his body was capable of moving around freely.

"Hmph," the old man snorted in response and left the room holding the black dagger in his hand.

After the old man left, Alvin tried to feel his divine bone, but there was no sensation at all. He couldn't even sense the presence of divine essence in the surroundings anymore.

After lying on the bed for some time, he took out the red book that his mother had given him from the storage ring.

"Chaos Blood Ascension Sutra, pretty powerful name," Alvin mumbled to himself as he read the cover of the book.

Even though Alvin was sure that he had never studied such characters in his previous life, strangely he could read it as though he was reading something written in a language he was most familiar with.

...

Unknowingly, 12 years passed.

During the past years, Alvin's life had a major turn.

Due to his worsening back pain, Alvin had to sell most of the things in his storage ring which were of some value in order to find a doctor for his treatment.

Even then, he could only suppress the pain, and it seemed as though no matter what treatment he had, the pain would follow him forever. So, Alvin stopped spending money on his treatment.

As time passed, he slowly adapted himself to tolerate this pain.

Initially, due to his unfamiliarity with this world, Alvin went through quite a few hardships. He didn't have a house to sleep in, nor was there anyone who was willing to give him a job due to his young age.

Alvin wandered like a beggar from one place to another. Some people might take pity on him and would throw some leftover food for him; others would shoo him away seeing Alvin's shabby attire.

At this time, Alvin's will was completely broken, and like any kid of the gutter, the only thought that remained in his head was to live to see the sun the next day.

But this situation changed the day Alvin achieved the beginner level in the Chaos Blood Ascension Sutra that his mother left behind for him.

From that day onwards, every time Alvin slept, he would see the scene of himself leaning on the shoulder of Elena, laughing and chatting, and how later her body lay motionless in front of him like a piece of wood.

The pain he felt as his divine bone was extracted from his body and how the lingering pain still haunted him like a nightmare was like a constant remainder for him.

As days passed, each night as he saw this dream again and again and again.

The hatred in his mind towards the Newgate grew deeper and deeper.

After Alvin reached the beginner level, which was also called the Novice Realm of cultivation using Chaos Blood Ascension Sutra, each time he practiced this devil art, he felt as though his blood was boiling hot and there would be unbearable pain all over his body.

Each time he completed a section of cultivation, he could swear to himself that he would abandon this damn art and would never touch it.

But as his pain subsided, his mind would be once again clouded by hatred towards the members of Newgate, and he would again cultivate like a madman who was thirsty for drugs.

Although this pain only increased as Alvin's cultivation realm increased higher and higher.

He continued to practice it, and his cultivation also reached the 7th realm of cultivation, the Demigod level.

Even in the entire Celestia, a person who had reached the Demigod level at the tender age of 19 was never heard of.

Normally, for a person with average talent, it would at least take 500 years of cultivation to reach this point, as the cultivation difficulty increases exponentially as the level increases.

Although Alvin achieved this impossible feat at the tender age of 19, the price he paid was that, like a burning candle, his vitality continued to decrease at a frightening rate.

His once purple eyes turned ruby red in color, and his black hair turned completely white. He looked more like an old man than a 19-year-old boy.

Alvin was also aware of this fact that he was slowly dying day by day as he practiced Chaos Blood Ascension Sutra.

But even after knowing this was a path to hell, he gritted his teeth and kept advancing forward for the sole reason of taking revenge on the people of Newgate.

Due to the terrifying power boost brought out by the Chaos Blood Ascension Sutra, there was hardly anyone who could defeat him in the same rank.

So, without any hesitation, he started to massacre people of Newgate whenever he encountered them.

Although initially he did the attacks in secret, later as his power increased, he started clashing with them head-on.

'There is news about a hidden base of Newgate, he will visit them carrying his sword for a friendly exchange.'

'Newgate members are attacking a city, he would generously go and help the city.'

'Newgate members are nowhere to be found, no problem, he will pay a large sum of money to buy information about their base and then visit them for a heart-to-heart chat.'

Although for him all this was interaction between friends, the people who visited these places after he left didn't share the same sentiments.

Dead bodies of humans and tamed beasts would be piled up like mountains, the blood flowing from their corpses would flood the ground like a red sea.

The smell of blood would spread far, making the scene look like a living hell on earth.

Although people of the Newgate alliance are all villains who did heinous crimes all over Celestia, killing people like cutting vegetables is also not something anyone would approve.
