"He… hello." my voice stuttered as I picked up the call I had been hoping not to have, I had just got home and sat beside my sister when this call came in. Guess Alpha Ian was able to get back my whole information from my previous phone.
"Hello? Is this the thanks I get for missing a day of work without even requesting a leave?" Ryder's voice yelled over the phone.
"I... I am sorry, my sister…" I stammered.
"Your sister? Are you kidding me? We are also working because of money, we are not made of money, Emma. We have bills to pay and food to put on the table. You can't just skip work because your sister is sick and expect to get paid at the end of the month."
"I am sorry," I mumbled, desperate. What was I thinking? That I would be spared in the workplace? What a joke!
"If you are not at the office within the next few minutes, consider yourself fired!" Ryder barked before hanging up the phone.
