The sound of banging pulled me from shallow sleep, the kind that never really touched the bone.
Bang. Bang. Bang.
"Open the damn door!" Xander's voice roared from the other side, as raw and violent as a breaking storm. Just hearing he is the one behind that door I already lost the little patience I had within me.
"I have given you enough time. I no longer have the patience to let you do things your way."
I stared at the ceiling, unmoved. His voice had become part of my mornings now. Just another curse I woke up to.
But today… it grated deeper.
I pulled the blankets aside and crossed the room in silence. My fingers curled around the doorknob, and I yanked it open before he could slam his fist again.
"Finally!" I let out and stepped inside like he owned the air I breathed, his broad shoulders brushing past mine.
