Asura Path: Five-Finger Missile!
Shing! Naruto Uzumaki detached the wrist of one of his mechanical arms, revealing a series of missiles from the open mechanism. He aimed at a distant forest and fired without hesitation.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
A deafening explosion followed, leveling the forest and reducing the pack of wolves lurking in the shadows to lifeless corpses.
Violet stood in shock, her mouth agape. "What was that? A jutsu?"
Clack! Naruto reattached the wrist to his mechanical arm, flexing it with a crisp mechanical sound.
"The Asura Path," Naruto explained, "is one of the six abilities of the Rinnegan. It allows the summoning of mechanical armor onto the user's body, enabling feats of physical prowess far beyond human limits. It can even summon weapons unknown to this world—ranged artillery, close-combat tools, you name it. It's versatile enough to handle any combat situation."
Naruto continued, "These armors and weapons come from a place called the Asura Workshop. Unlike the Animal Path's summoning realm, the Asura Workshop is inaccessible to its users—at least for now, there's no known way to enter it."
For Violet, Naruto's explanation was far from reassuring. She murmured, "So it's... a jutsu, then?"
Naruto responded casually, "You could say that."
A Night of Creation
Click, clack! After eliminating the wolves, Naruto calmly began dismantling the mechanical heads on his shoulders and the arms beneath his own. Under Violet's astonished gaze, he started disassembling his own "body."
"What is he doing? Taking apart his own body? But... it seems like those parts were pieced together in the first place!" Violet thought, her confusion growing.
In truth, Naruto was deep in thought. "The mechanical components summoned by the Asura Path are functional but rigid. Except for the head, which is customized for the user, the rest are standard-issue. They're effective but lack flexibility. Why not disassemble them into parts and reassemble them into something I truly need?"
This was the "expansion" Naruto had mentioned to Konan earlier. It was also why he had asked for books on mechanical engineering.
Click! Clack! Clack!
Naruto meticulously disassembled the summoned components and began reassembling them into new mechanisms.
If he lacked the necessary parts, he would summon more armor to break down.
If the size of a part didn't fit, he used a Lightning Release Chakra Blade to refine it.
If his theoretical knowledge fell short, he referred to the books he had brought along, learning as he worked.
The more Violet watched, the more unsettled she became. "I can't understand him at all anymore. The techniques he's using have already surpassed the scope of what a shinobi should be capable of. I used to doubt whether he was really Pain, but now... there's no doubt. He's Pain, through and through. Only someone like him could defeat Hanzo the Salamander and unify the northern and southern factions of Amegakure. He's a monster."
Click! Clack!
After working through the night, Naruto—a complete novice in the field of mechanics—actually managed to assemble a humanoid machine.
Finally, he inserted the mechanical Rinnegan he had removed earlier into the eye sockets of the machine. With that, the Mecha Naruto: Prototype was complete.
Phew! Naruto removed his mask, wiped the sweat from his face, and sighed. "Using my brain is way more tiring than using my fists. This is as exhausting as fighting the Raikage."
Taking out a summoning scroll, Naruto sealed the Mecha Naruto: Prototype within it. Turning to Violet, who was resting with her eyes closed, he asked, "Are you ready to move on?"
Violet opened her eyes. "Yes, Lord Pain. I'm ready."
"Let's continue, then," Naruto said. "We've already delayed long enough. Let's push through and make up for lost time."
"Understood!" Violet nodded.
Konan and Jiraiya in Amegakure
Back in the Rain Village, on the seventh floor of the tower, Konan sat by Jiraiya's bedside, speaking calmly.
"Sensei, this is what Naruto has experienced in the future and what he must do now that he's returned."
"In the past, he changed Nagato. He changed me. He even became Hokage and achieved peace in the ninja world."
"If there were no threat from external enemies, that would have been the perfect ending."
"But the enemy's power was too overwhelming. Everything Naruto once cherished was destroyed, trampled upon without mercy."
"Now that he's back, he's doing things that may not yield results people want to see in the short term. But in the long run, they're necessary."
"Nagato once said that this world is still a child and needs a god to guide its growth. That statement wasn't entirely wrong. However, Nagato's method of using pain to guide the world has already been proven ineffective. Now it's Naruto's turn to guide the world. His method is a balance of love and discipline—a fusion of his past ideals with Nagato's philosophy."
"This ninja world must maintain a certain level of conflict. Without it, the strength of shinobi will stagnate. But the conflict must also be kept within limits; otherwise, it will breed new chains of hatred."
"Naruto is like a scale, maintaining the balance between the two. Yet, there are so few who can truly understand him right now."
"Sensei, what do you think of this Naruto?"
Jiraiya fell into deep thought. After a long pause, he picked up the pen and paper on his bedside table and wrote two words:
"Watch over."
This was the second time Jiraiya had written since his resurrection. The first time, he had written the word "forgive."
"Thank you, Sensei." Konan stood and bowed respectfully.
Jiraiya flipped the paper over, his expression solemn, and began writing again.
Konan watched quietly, only to see him write a string of codes and numbers.
"A cipher?" Konan frowned. She recalled the day Nagato had killed their master. At that time, Jiraiya had also written a cipher on Fukasaku's back.
"Why would Sensei encode his message? If he has something to say, why not write it plainly on the paper? Is he afraid of it being leaked to someone? Or is there another reason…?"
BOOM!
Suddenly, a flash of lightning illuminated the sky, followed by a rumble of thunder. The window blew open, letting in a gust of wind and rain.
Raindrops fell on Konan's face, casting a pale, cold hue.
"Has an enemy arrived?"
Konan carefully stored the paper with the cipher, then closed and locked the window, drawing the curtains shut.
"Sensei, it's late. Please rest. If you need anything, just ring the bell."
Swish!
Konan exited the room and leaped from the tower into the rain below.
From the second-floor window, Kisame Hoshigaki jumped down, his massive Samehada sword in hand.
The ANBU stationed in Amegakure also gathered at the scene.
Konan gazed toward the village entrance, her voice icy. "Let the hunt for the intruders begin."
At the Border of Fire and Wind
After hours of running, Naruto and Violet reached the border between the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind. Ahead lay the vast desert sands of the Wind Country.
CRACKLE!
Suddenly, a streak of lightning shot toward them!
CLANG! Naruto swiftly drew the Uchiha fan from his back, holding it up to block the lightning.
"Hmm?" The Raikage glared, his eyes widening.
Behind his mask, Naruto's lips curled into a smirk.
"Uzumaki Rebound!"
