The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the narrow alleyways, drowned only by the deafening screams of the damned. Blood splattered against the cold concrete, painting grotesque murals of chaos and despair.
The once familiar skyline of Tokyo was now obscured by smoke and fire, as buildings crumbled and the scent of burning flesh mixed with the putrid stench of decay.
Nobita Nobi ran as fast as his legs could carry him, his chest heaving with exhaustion. His school uniform was torn, stained with dirt and blood—not all of it his own. The weight of his breath felt like lead in his lungs, yet he didn't dare stop. Not now. Not when the nightmare was unfolding right before his eyes.
"Nobita, keep running! Don't look back!" Shizuka's voice rang in his ears, filled with terror and desperation.
But how could he not look back?
The streets behind him were filled with grotesque figures, their eyes hollow, their mouths gaping as they unleashed guttural growls. The undead, their limbs twisted at unnatural angles, some missing flesh, others with bones protruding through their decomposed skin. They were relentless, driven by an insatiable hunger that defied logic.
Giant and Suneo were ahead, desperately weaving through abandoned vehicles and corpses littering the streets. Shizuka was right beside him, her once pristine school uniform now torn and bloodied. Her eyes, wide with fear, darted left and right, searching for an escape.
"What the hell is happening?!" Suneo shouted, his voice cracking from the sheer terror in his throat.
"I don't know! I don't fucking know!" Giant roared back, his usual bravado gone. His muscular frame trembled as he swung a makeshift weapon—a broken metal pipe—at an approaching ghoul. The impact sent the creature sprawling, but it wasn't enough to stop it for long.
Nobita mind raced. Just hours ago, they had been in school, laughing about weekend plans, complaining about homework. Now, their world had turned into a nightmare.
Shizuka grabbed his wrist, pulling him forward. "We have to keep moving! We need to find shelter!"
A sudden scream pierced the air. It was Suneo. He had tripped, his ankle caught between the remains of a shattered glass panel. His face twisted in horror as the creatures closed in on him.
"Suneo!" Giant moved to help, but the nearest zombie lunged, forcing him to swing his pipe again.
Nobita didn't think—he simply acted. He sprinted toward Suneo, ignoring the searing pain in his legs. Just as the closest zombie reached for Suneo, Nobita grabbed his arm and yanked him free. The two of them stumbled backward, narrowly avoiding the snapping jaws of death.
"Go, go!" Nobita screamed, adrenaline surging through his veins.
They ran through the deserted city, dodging more of the infected, their breath ragged. The streets were no longer safe. Cars were overturned, fires raged in the distance, and the city's iconic neon lights flickered erratically, as if struggling to stay alive in this hellscape.
Finally, they found temporary refuge in an abandoned convenience store. Giant slammed the door shut behind them, pushing a heavy shelf against it for reinforcement. The four of them collapsed onto the cold floor, gasping for air.
For a few moments, there was only silence, except for the faint sounds of the creatures outside, their moans echoing through the empty streets.
"What… the hell… is going on…?" Suneo panted, his face pale. "This can't be real… This has to be a nightmare, right?"
Giant shook his head, his expression grim. "I don't think so…"
Nobita clenched his fists, his whole body trembling. His mind raced with questions, but none of them had answers.
His breath came out in shaky gasps as he whispered, almost to himself—
"Why is this happening?"
