A cultivator is particularly an individual who engages in cultivation, just like a farmer who accumulates small amounts of crops by raising them from seeds—similarly, a cultivator harvests the internal energy present in the atmosphere and converts it into their own Qi.
The slow process of converting the naturally present energy to their own is known as cultivation, which is somewhat similar to the farming term used for farmers.
Just like how to get a good harvest and crops, one needs to follow a disciplined routine and a very slow process that takes several months for crops to fully grow, a cultivator also needs to accumulate small drops of Qi extracted and synthesized from the natural internal energy directly to their Dantian, which slowly rises, accumulates, and finally gives them a breakthrough.
