Chapter 119 - Chapter 119: Shizue Meets Yuuki

Without warning, Zaydas used 'Fenrir' to 'devour' the spirit of time completely.

In an instant, the [Great Sage Scholar] began analyzing the spirit.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Ramiris was stunned by his actions, flying around him like an annoying mosquito with a strange buzzing sound from flying too fast: "What do you think you're doing, seriously? Even though it's a rare spirit, it was still a formed spirit of time, was it really necessary for you to intervene?!"

Looking at her, Zaydas said with an innocent look: "I think you misunderstood me, Ramiris-chan. I'm just making sure there's nothing wrong with this spirit, since I saw you were quite surprised to see it. And after analyzing it, there are indeed no issues, and I can hand it over to Chloe."

"Bah! Do you take me for an idiot? You clearly have a different purpose, I just know it!" she said.

In response, Zaydas gently smiled at her. However, his smile made her back off so quickly it looked like she was running from a wild beast.

Without wasting time with her, Zaydas stood before Chloe and, placing his hand on her head, transferred the Spirit of Time to her.

Once that was done, the 'chaos' in her body stabilized quickly.

Chloe opened her eyes and looked at him.

"Zaydas-san?" Her eyes shone with concern.

Touching her head, he smiled gently: "It's all right, it worked perfectly. You also managed to avoid danger."

"Hehe~ I see, thank you~" she hummed happily.

Ramiris, who had backed away, could only watch and sigh.

She still didn't know the reason behind Zaydas' actions, but she seemed to sense that he had some hidden motive behind them.

After returning to the group with Chloe, Zaydas turned to her and thanked Ramiris: "By the way, thank you. Thanks to you, the children are safe!"

The children showered her with thanks.

"Bah! That's enough!" Blushing, she tried to shake off the embarrassment.

The other fairies flew alongside Ramiris, creating a beautiful scene. To bless the children who escaped that terrible fate… To ignite the fire of happiness in their hearts. And, naturally, a smile formed on the children's faces.

As they walked toward the outside of the labyrinth... Zaydas, who was in a good mood, noticed Ramiris' strange and suspicious look.

'She's still on this… Well, I admit I wanted to analyze the composition of the Spirit of Time and with that, I should be able to control time in a more practical way…'

He didn't regret it for a minute. After analyzing it, although he couldn't perfectly replicate a spirit of time, he could still create energy similar to that used by the spirit of time.

Several plans formed in his mind.

The return to the [Freedom Academy] was smooth. After saying goodbye to Ramiris, they returned in the flying carriage.

By the way, as a 'gift' for everything she had done for them, Zaydas built a robot for Ramiris.

With his thought-processing speed, it was easy to create commands using [Program] and shape it with [Modeling] to create a robot with the appearance of a beautiful futuristic robot, even capable of speaking with Chi's voice from Chobits. In fact, even the appearance was the same as that character.

For a brief moment, when he finished it, he even felt a bit sorry to hand 'Chi' over to Ramiris...

And the highest-priority command was: Protect Ramiris, the ability to keep learning, and never attack Ramiris.

Chi is 152 cm tall. She has brown/turmeric-colored eyes and long, straight, light-blonde hair that reaches the floor. And she has bell-shaped ears, pink and white.

When Ramiris received her... She practically flew into the sky. All the annoyance she had toward him earlier was forgotten miles away, and she was all smiles.

'Well, no need to regret it so much. As I've done it once, I can do it a second, third, and... Even make something like...'

Thinking about girls who were called 'ship girls', it was hard not to want to replicate something like that.

In Chi's case, he even infused a bit of fire and earth spirit energy into her. He did this as a precaution, in case Chi manages to break through the barrier and gain consciousness, becoming an almost human existence. Still, he imposed restrictions on her own body through commands, ensuring that she could never act against Ramiris. The chances of that happening are minimal, but better safe than sorry.

When Shizue went to see Yuuki... The shock she felt upon seeing him can't be described with mere words.

In front of her was an old man appearing to be around 60 to almost 70 years old. With short white hair and a wrinkled face, he no longer had that usual smile, and his expression was of someone who had lost everything and nearly given up on life.

"What happened to you?" she asked, bringing her hands to her mouth.

Despite knowing the things he had done, it was inevitable that she still had some affection for this student of hers. And seeing him in such a state made her sympathize with him a little.

Looking at her, Yuuki took a few seconds before finally opening his mouth, only to close it again, then open it once more and speak with an old and tired voice: "Someone stole what was mine."

Those were the only words he spoke before walking over to the window and looking outside.

His back looked lonely, as if at any moment he might collapse.

The truth was that, beyond losing his abilities, he was also in a state similar to the children summoned to this world with their days numbered...

Shizue wanted to say something, but she simply couldn't speak. She deeply resented him, so even though she wanted to say some kind words... She simply couldn't and left Yuuki's office in silence with a sad expression.

After the door closed, Yuuki's aged hands clenched into fists. The frustration and helplessness he felt were things he had never experienced before. At the same time that he was frustrated, he felt lost. The worst part was that he didn't even know where to begin searching for the one who did all this to him.

'I can't just die like this?!' Yuuki screamed madly in his heart.

However, even with the twisted methods he tried, he couldn't acquire another unique skill. Although he could obtain extra skills, it wasn't enough; a unique skill was needed to resolve the chaos in his body. Otherwise, the clock's hand would continue to go 'tick-tock' until the final day of his life.
