The sun was beginning to set now, casting long shadows over the valley.
The air was growing cold, and without their nightly campfire, Kael shivered.
From their vantage point, Kael could see silver tracks stretching into the distance, disappearing into the thick mist that was beginning to settle over the ground.
"There it is," Ronin murmured beside him, pointing toward the rails. "Royal Road."
The valley itself was narrow, the walls steep and lined with dead, twisted trees. A perfect place for an ambush.
Now they just needed to figure out how to get the transport to stop.
Kael watched as a couple of the Raiders chopped down one of the dead trees. It began to tilt and crack before crashing to the ground.
They began dragging it towards the railroad while some of the miners hauled large chunks of rock cut from the side of the valley.
The obstruction needed to be large enough to stop the transport, but not too big that the Officials would suspect an attack.
