Lucian couldn't get the image of the sewer beast out of his mind. Hundreds of people had flocked to it, tearing apart everything from its skin to its fleshy meat to its organs.
Soon people would be getting sick, and there was nothing he could do about that.
They had made their choice. Poison over starvation.
His only hope was that they wouldn't die. Maybe their bodies would reject the meat, and they would all throw up soon. Or they would digest the poison, and their bodies wouldn't be able to metabolize quick enough before it began affecting them.
Lucian walked past the massive skeletal structure, which had been licked clean of anything edible.
A man stumbled past him, his eyes half closed, his balance off. He was either drunk, or dying from the poison.
Lucian watched him throw up in a gutter, his body shaking as he tried to empty the contents of his stomach.
If one was doing it, the others would soon follow.
Soon enough, he'd have a pandemic on his hands.
