He must have been following me. I'd better get out of this cursed place because it's too early to die. That guy is definitely a cannibal. There was something off about him—crazy, psychopathic freak.
But in this weather, I can't just leave...
I set off, walking calmly because if I ran, he might notice me if he was really following.

I finally saw the highway and started walking along it. My back was weighed down, sweat dripping from my face—but it wasn't just exhaustion. It was tension. I was too stressed out. I needed to find a weapon as soon as possible. Defense is crucial. But I had no idea where to get one. I had to reach the city.
I wondered if there were any abandoned vehicles around. Even if there was one, would it still be in working condition? Who would leave a functioning car behind, especially in a situation like this?
Maybe I'd get lucky.
Just as I thought that, I saw a light—it looked like a headlamp. I approached silently, checked to see if anyone was around, and when I saw that it was empty, I got inside. I closed the door. The car was still running. That made me so happy.
I started driving, but then someone shouted:
"Give me back my car, you bastard!"
I panicked and stopped. The man started approaching, and then others emerged from the front—armed with long rifles.
I kept driving and sped away. They fired at me, but luckily, they missed.
Only the windshield shattered.
I drove as far as I could—200 kilometers. Then, the car ran out of fuel.
I saw the lights of buildings. I had reached the city. But I didn't recognize it. Everything had changed so much.
I needed to set up camp somewhere no one would see me. Then, I could continue my journey.
