[Mario walks onto a beach with an umbrella and a beach chair. As he finds a spot, he looks to his right, then to his left. After doing so and sees that nobody is around, the red-capped plumber sets his chair and places his umbrella, only to find a resting Sonic on his chair.]
["Hmm? Hello? That's-a mine!" Mario shouted at the Blue Hedgehog.]
[Sonic removes his sunglasses and gives Mario a smug smile.]
["Finders keepers, pal." Sonic grinned at the plumber.]

"Seriously Sonic, why can't you just find your own seat." Mario frowned at his video game rival.
"So that's how the fight started? Just you two fighting over a chair?" Daisy was in disbelief on seeing that.
Luigi sighed, knowing his brother won't take this lightly.
Daisy was slightly triggered by this and started to rant, "Oh you cocky little, kick his ass Mario!"

Shadow looked at Sonic with a raised eyebrow, "Really Sonic, this is why you two fight each other? This is one of the stupidest things both of you are fighting over."
"Come on Shadow, don't be like that. Maybe it's a really good chair." Sonic said as he tried to explain himself.
Everyone else was clearly not buying it though and they are staring at him with deadpanned expressions.
Tails then shakes his head, "Why do you have to do this Sonic?" He groaned at Sonic's arrogance for taking Mario's chair.
[Mario gets angry and closes the chair on the Blue Blur, kicking it a few feet forward.]
["Whoa!" Sonic yelped.]
[After the chair opens in the air, Sonic lands face-first in the sand. The Blue Blur then gets up and angrily looks at Mario.]
["You asked for it, tubby!" Sonic exclaimed.]
[Mario rips apart his chest to reveal his usual plumber attire and makes a small taunt at Sonic.]
Everyone in the real worlds was dumbfounded at the sight as they all tried to logically explain this but then they all just chalked it all up to cartoon shenanigans and toon force.

"W-what the?! H-how did he?" Tails was stupefied to see this, "That doesn't make any sense?! How did he just rip off his own skin to reveal his usual plumber outfit?!"
Sonic shrugged, "Don't know, maybe its just special effects made by the hosts, it IS a simulation Tails." He reminded him.
"Who cares?! Let's see the fight!" Tangle shouted, eager to see the match finally starting.
[Sonic starts to do a Super Peel Out and throws sand in Mario's eyes, making him shriek a bit. While Mario is distracted, Sonic starts to attack him while he tries to attack with his eyes closed, missing every hit. Sonic then starts to run in circles around Mario.]
["You're too slow~!" Sonic taunted him.]
["Mario then uses his Firebrand ability to throw fireballs at the speedy hedgehog, who dodges them before noticing a Red Wisp chirping above the fight. He then looks back at Mario, who starts throwing a flurry of fireballs at Sonic while letting out a war cry. Sonic avoids the fireballs once more, climbing up a nearby palm tree jumping at the Red Wisp to grab it mid-air."]
["Come 'ere!" Sonic yelled as he transforms into the Red Burst using the Wisp and charges at Mario. Mario shoots out another flurry of fireballs at it, but since the Red Burst is already made of fire, it effortlessly barges straight through the projectiles and rams into the Italian plumber, knocking him into a tree. As Mario looks up after getting knocked back, he notices the Red Burst charging at him again and, thinking fast, grabs a Super Bell from his pocket and turns into Cat Mario, scratching Sonic out of the Red Burst, much to the Wisp's confusion, and sending him bouncing from tree to tree, knocking Double Cherries off of them before he skips into the water. Mario smirks before noticing the multiple Double Cherries on the ground, much to his joy.]

Mario grinned at the sight of the Double Cherries as he knew exactly what his on-screen self was thinking.
Luigi also noticed this and gulped, knowing that Sonic won't come out of there unscathed.
Daisy smiled at this, "Oh I know what you are planning Mario."
[Meanwhile, Sonic comes out of the water with an Aqua Shield, only to see multiple Cat Marios jump out of the forest and charge at him.]
["Oh, gimme a break...!" Sonic groaned.]

"Uh, that is a lot of Marios." Sonic sweatdropped, already dreading on facing multiple Cat Marios at once.
"That's definitely gonna hurt." Tails cringed at the sight.
"Get out of there Mister Sonic!" Cheese cried out in alarm.
[Sonic tiredly falls to his knees while multiple Marios are jumping towards him. His Bubble Shield is then burst open with a claw swipe and he is subjected to a heavy beatdown by the Cat Mario clones where he's punched in the stomach, slapped in the face, kicked in the groin, headbutted head on, and violently scratched at his back, all while a grey pigeon looks on from a distance, standing on the flipped over beach chair. The one-sided beating continues until a rainbow beam blasts out the dust cloud and knocks away some of the Mario copies as Sonic uses the Super Emeralds to transform into Hyper Sonic and rise into the air.]
["Now I'll show you!" Hyper Sonic shouted.]
{Super Mario Bros Universe}
Everyone gulped as soon as they see Sonic transformed into Hyper Sonic.
"Oh Mamma Mia! Other me must do something!" Mario exclaimed.
"Use the Super Star Mario!" Princess Peach yelled.
"Oh yeah, I remembered that I have that!" Mario said in a relieved tone.

"Oh right! Now he's in for a world of hurt!" Sonic grinned at the screen.
"You can do this Sonic! Finish him off!" Amy cheered.
"It's not over just yet." Shadow said, "He still haven't used his last Trump card."
"What are you talking abo-" Sonic then remembered that Mario didn't used the Super Star at all in this at all.
[Hyper Sonic destroys the remaining Cat Mario duplicates one by one, while the real Mario frantically grabs out a Super Star as he dodges Hyper Sonic's attack from behind. Hyper Sonic then turns around and rams straight into Mario, who uses the Super Star right as he's hit, getting knocked out of his cat costume as the hedgehog pushes the plumber off the beach and over the ocean surface while his costume is left behind.]
[Hyper Sonic throws a flurry of punches at Invincible Mario while dashing on the ocean, kicking up high tidal waves in the progress. Mario then holds off Sonic's head with his left hand while his right hand grabs out the Wing Cap and puts it on his head.]
["Let's-a go..." Invincible Mario said as the two retro rivals fly straight into the sky as the pigeon from before continues watching from afar, now lying on the now-upright beach chair. Invincible Wing Mario and Hyper Sonic trade punches and kicks at each other until they reach outer space, where they prepare for big swings of arms. As they clash into each other, the Moon behind them explodes, but as the two back away from each other to prepare another series of blows, their super forms run out of time, reverting them back to their base forms.]
Everyone was heavily invested in this fight and they were all cheering for either Mario or Sonic to win, but when they saw their Super Forms deactivated and they were back to their base forms, they all looked at the screen alarmed as both of them were now powerless and they were a few thousand metres off the ground.
Mario and Sonic's eyes widened as soon as they saw this.
"Uh oh."
["Oh shoot." Sonic groaned.]
["Oh, mamma mia! Mario exclaimed.]
[Mario screams as he and Sonic fall from orbit and back down to Earth, but Sonic still decides to dive towards Mario with a flurry of punches, only to get knocked back by one swing punch from the plumber, causing the nose of the Blue Blur to bleed a bit. The Sega mascot then wipes out the blood and, as small blue lightning crackles around him, uses the Homing Attack at the Nintendo mascot. Mario catches at the homing spin, but his gloves get grounded bit by bit as his hands take damage from Sonic's Spin Dash. Suddenly, Mario's hands as well as Sonic's body are set aflame from the intense friction. Mario grabs hold of the fire spin and swings it for a few rounds.]
["So long-a, hedgehog!" Mario shouted as he spikes a screaming Sonic into the ocean, while he lands on the beach in a three-point landing style and gets up as a giant mushroom cloud explosion goes off in the distance. Mario shakes off his hands to cool them down, seeing the damage done to them and his gloves caused by the Spin Dash before a leg of the now incinerated Sonic lands in his palms, putting a smile on the plumber's face.]
["Wahoo! I'm the winner!" Mario cheers and jumps for joy as the mushroom cloud, now sporting the face of a Poison Mushroom, continues blooming.]
As the battle reached its conclusion, the people who have voted for Mario cheered in victory for Nintendo's poster boy and for Sega and Sonic fans, they were of course saddened by this but they all clapped and cheered for both Mario and Sonic nonetheless.

Princess Peach's Castle
Everyone was silent but as soon as they saw that Mario won the Death Battle, they all cheered and clapped for him.
"Congratulations Mario!" Daisy exclaimed as she smacked him on the back, as she celebrated his victory.
"You did it Mario, despite the gruesome outcome aside." Princess Peach said, causing all of them to shiver as they remembered the sight of Sonic's charred foot.
"Yoshi. Yoshi." Yoshi said, reminded them all that it was only a simulation.
"Well you did it brother, so how did you feel?" Luigi asked the victor of the second Death Battle.
Mario was silent for a while, while it was true that he did won and was happy for it, he still felt that Sonic does not deserve that fate.
"Its true that I did win against Sonic, I still feel that Sonic should have won though." He paused for a moment before replying, "But I guess I still have to take the win."
Rosalina's Observatory
"You did it Mario, I knew you could pull this off." Rosalina said, though she did frowned when she saw Sonic's foot.
"I suppose we're all lucky that its only a simulation."
Wario and Waluigi's House
"What?! Sonic lost?! GRAAAAHHHH!" Wario shouted as he threw his couch across the room in a fit of rage.
"That's not fair! How can Sonic lose?! He is literally hundreds of times faster than him?!" Waluigi can't believe his eyes when he saw that.
"This must be fake! There's no way that Sonic lost to that damn plumber!"
Bowser's Castle
Bowser groaned in disappointment as soon as he saw that Mario won. "Great, another win for the great Mario" He said sarcastically.
"Aw cheer up Dad!" Bowser Jr said as he pats his father's shell, "I'm sure that we will find some way to beat him."
Bowser grumbled in protest but he didn't stop his son as he was busy thinking how did Mario won that fight.

Restoration Headquarters
Everyone gasped as soon as they saw Sonic's charred foot and they all have various reactions to this.
"SONIC!!!!!" Amy cried, saddened by the fact that her beloved lost.
Sonic cringed, thanking to himself that it was all just a simulation, "Ooh, that's definitely gonna leave a mark."
Tails dropped to his knees, unable to comprehend the fact that Sonic lost, "No, this can't be possible."
Knuckles winced at the sight as he looks away, "Damn that is brutal."
Shadow widened his eyes as he didn't believe that Sonic would actually lose to the plumber, "How... unexpected."
Rouge was left speechless, "I never expected that Sonic would lose like that."
Cream cried, tears streaming down on her face as her mother wrapped her arms around her, "Shh, sweetheart, you don't have to see this anymore."
Cream sniffled, "S-sonic... h-he d-died." She said, as her small and fragile mind can't handle seeing Sonic dead.
Tangle and Whisper were left speechless as they couldn't believe that Sonic lost.
"Damn, Mario actually cooked him." Tangle said, but she winced as soon as Whisper nudged her for her inappropriate words.
"Tangle, that is insensitive! And Cream is here too." Whisper said softly, to avoid Cream from accidentally overhearing their conversation.
Chaotix Detective Agency
Team Chaotix were left speechless, "Did all of you just see that right?" Charmy said in a dull tone, his wings buzzing due to his nervousness and stress because of Mario defeating Sonic.
"We did Charmy." Espio said, his tone slightly wavering upon seeing Sonic's defeat. "Sonic lost against Mario, which shouldn't be possible."
Vector shook his head, "Aw man, now I feel bad for him." He said, wondering what was Sonic's reaction upon seeing his defeat.
Blaze's Dimension
Blaze was taken aback by Sonic's defeat against Mario. "Sonic, there's no way that you could have lost."
Silver was naturally shocked at the fact that Sonic was defeated by Mario, "I can't believe my eyes. I didn't expect him to lose this badly."
Sally dropped her glass in shock as soon as she saw that her ex-boyfriend lost, "No.... this can't be true." Soon tears started to fall as she cried out in sadness.
Eggman Base
"OHOHOHOHOHOHOH!!!!!" Eggman's laughter echoed throughout the entire facility when he saw Sonic's death happened right in front of him.
"OHOHOHOHO! I never expected that Sonic would actually lose to that plumber but boy was I wrong!" Eggman exclaimed boisterously.
Metal Sonic beeped as he looked at the screen, feeling very satisfied upon seeing his organic copy death.
"This is actually the first time that the boss admits that he's wrong." Orbot whispered to Cubot.
"Yeah, you think he's feeling okay?" Cubot whispered back, unaware that Eggman was right in front of them.
"I'm feeling better you two idiots!" He said as he slammed his fists down on top of Orbot and Cubot's heads. "In fact I never felt better!"
[The victorious Mario lays back on his beach chair and puts on Sonic's sunglasses, finally getting a chance to relax as he watches the still-blooming mushroom cloud with a smug grin.]
["Whoa-ho-ho! How did that happen?" Boomstick exclaimed, "I know Nintendo won the console wars, but... I really seem to remember Sonic having this one in the bag."]
["I'm sure Sonic could've won in specific circumstances, but more times than not, Mario takes the victory. Keep in mind, this analysis was done with the focus on the games and their closely tied media, excluding alternate contrary sources, like the Archie Comics or the Mario Brothers movie, where Mario and Sonic are essentially entirely different characters from their gaming counterparts." Wiz revealed as the screen shows an Archie Sonic comic book and a poster for the Super Mario Bros Movie.]

Everyone was surprised to find out that there was an entirely different universe with Mario and possibly other versions of themselves being completely different compared to them.
"They made a movie out of us?" Mario wondered if the hosts can show them the movie, "That would be interesting to watch."
"Yeah, I wonder if the Bowser in that world has fallen in love you." Daisy grinned at Peach to which the latter rolled her eyes.
"If that is true, then my other self would also reject him like I did." She replied to her friend.

"Woah, are those comic books about me." Sonic looked at the cover of Archie Sonic. "Well I got to say he looks dashing!"
Shadow grunted, already hating the fact that there are TWO Sonics out there in the multiverse.
"Great, if one Sonic's bad enough, who's to say the other one is as annoying as you." He said out loud, though in his mind was a different story.
'If he and this Archie Sonic are completely different hedgehogs, is that Sonic more powerful than our Sonic?'

"Look Mario, is that supposed to be us?" Movie Luigi pointed to the screen, displaying the Super Mario Bros Movie poster.
"I think so, Luigi. Then again, I don't even remember doing any of what was shown on the screen." Movie Mario said, thinking about how that they were an adaptation to the games that was shown.
{Archie Sonic Universe}
Archie Sonic grinned at this, "So I'm supposed to be a comic book character? That is surpising."
Sally agreed with her boyfriend, "Agreed, though I can't help but wonder if the game versions of us are dating."
Archie Sonic smiled at her, "Of course they are! I mean who would not date such a pretty little squirrel like yourself?" He said as the two of them begin to move closer to one another and they kissed.
["Sonic had speed in the bag, obviously, but Mario was way too tough for him." Boomstick said.]
["Their top strength feats paint this picture very, very clearly." Wiz said.]
["But, I know what you're thinking: What good is Mario's strength if he couldn't even hit the Blue Blur? He's way too fast, right?" Boomstick asked.]
["Yes and no." Wiz answered, "While Mario obviously couldn't match Sonic's relativistic top running-speeds, he's moved efficiently as a bolt of electricity and piloted the Star Diver. Based on our calculations, this puts him at the same level as Sonic's own reactionary feats Since Mario was tough enough to tank almost anything Sonic could throw at him, it was only a matter of time before he tagged the Blue Blur with a deadly blow."]

RWBY Dorm Room
"That is true." Weiss noted, "Sonic was clearly weaker than Mario since he can lift a castle like it was nothing and Mario was shown to be able to survive that giant explosion."
"Aw yeah!" Yang said as she pumped her fist up in the air, "Strength always beat speed!"
"But didn't you lost to that ice cream-coloured chick a few weeks ago?" Blake reminded her, "She defeated you with barely any effort."
"Shut up Blake, that was a fluke! I just didn't know she could be that good with just an umbrella." Yang said in denial.

"They're right. During our fights, Mario has shown us time and time again that he can take hits and dish it out at the same time." Samus nodded her head.
"Still, it's crazy to think that Sonic could actually lose to Mario. I thought that Sonic would have this in the bag." Fox McCloud said.
"Poyo! Poyo!" Kirby said while eating some noodles by swallowing the entire bowl.
We cut to Wiz and Boomstick.
["But what about Chaos Control? Couldn't Sonic just stop time and take care of things whi-" Boomstick said.
[Wiz pulls out Mario's stopwatch and uses it to pause Boomstick in time, with the word "PAUSE" appearing on him.]
["It's heavily implied he knows how to, but Sonic has never actually used the Time Stop ability in canon. Even then, Mario's Stop Watch does the same thing, putting them on equal footing." Wiz said as he un-pauses Boomstick.]
["Gah! Don't do that! ...Where's my wallet?" Boomstick exclaimed.]
{Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Universe}
"They can stop time?! That's a seriously broken ability!" Old Joseph exclaimed out loud.
Jotaro nodded, though he can't help but feel an odd sensation running through his veins.
'Stop time? Is that DIO's ability? No, I shouldn't judge so soon. Though, I can't hep but feel uneasy about this.' He thought.
DIO's Mansion
"Oh? So both Mario and Sonic can stop time?" DIO said as he lounged in his room, staring at the holographic screen.
"This could be real troublesome if they were arrive in this universe, they are the only ones alongside the Joestars who can stop my plans." He sneered, thinking back to Mario and Sonic's ridiculous levels of strength and speed.
["Actually, most of Mario and Sonic's power-ups counter each other in this way." Wiz revealed, "Mario even had plenty of options for defending against Sonic's invincible super forms, but Mario also had a much wider variety of power-ups, offering multiple ways to overpower Sonic. For example, he could've frozen Sonic solid..."]
[He pulls out an Ice Flower and touches Boomstick with it, freezing him solid.]
["Ah!" Boomstick yelled.]
["...or even turned him into gold." Wiz said as he then pulls out a Gold Flower and touches Boomstick with it, turning him into coins in the shape of his frozen stance.]
["His arsenal would always outlast Sonic's because he's been shown to carry more of them on his person." Wiz said as he then pulls out a remote and presses the button on it to turn Boomstick back to normal.]
["O-oh god! Ugh- I've seen things...!" Boomstick groaned.]
{Team Fortress 2 Universe}
Red Team's Base
"Wh-what the huh?!" Scout's jaw dropped as his team looked at Boomstick who was just turned into the gold suddenly turned back into his fleshy self again by Wiz. "H-how the fuck did he do that?!"
Engineer's eyes darted towards the remote that Wiz was holding, "Hmm, it seems that I'm not the only who has the same idea. And he managed to create a device that turns anyone affected by the Gold Flower back into regular humans. I need to know the schematics of that remote." He quickly sketched the remote before coming up with his own theories and questions.
Spy smirked as he lit his cigarette, "No matter what Sonic do with his power-ups and Shields, Mario will always have a counter for it, not bad if I do say so myself."
Heavy laughed heartily, "Mario is strong man, Heavy likes strong man!"
{Overwatch Universe}
Overwatch Gibraltar Headquarters
"Damn, that was cold." D.Va muttered, "Even though Wiz turned him back, it's still a bit horrifying seeing Boomstick turned into gold like that.
"Yeah, and that Ice flower has the same powers as mine does." Mei said softly, "It makes me wonder if Mario or Sonic have similar abilities like ours. like those flowers and wisps that they have."
"That's right Mei." Winston said as he analysed the flowers and the remote that Wiz was holding. "I need to create some devices that can counteract their effects just in case criminals decided to replicate their abilities."
"Well I'm sure that we can count those two to safeguard those flowers and wisps." Tracer smiled, "They're heroes after all, keeping power that can harm others safe from the wrong hands."
["But even then, Mario's durability blew Sonic's out of the water. Even if we assumed the 200-kiloton stalactite feat was entirely Sonic's doing, Mario survived an explosion that was 12 times more powerful." Simply put, Sonic didn't have a lot of viable options that could take Mario down for good." Wiz added.]
["I always knew Sonic was impressive, but Mario is just ridiculous. Probably that moustache..." Boomstick muttered.]
{Hunter X Hunter Universe}
Royal Palace of East Gorteau
Meruem's eyes glanced at the screen with intense curiosity as he sat on his throne, "Mario... a human that can defeat a hedgehog who is faster than any living creature. This only proves that humans should not be taken lightly."
Shaiapouf and the other two Royal Guards, Neferpitou and Menthuthuyoupi were close to him as they each discussed about what they have just seen.
"Nya, that human is strong." Neferpitou said, with her finger on her chin, "I wonder if those rare humans are as strong as him."
"No, I have never met any other human who's strength is as close to him." Shaiapouf said, with his teeth clenched, "Even if there is a possibility that one of the human's strength is as close to Mario, we must protect the King with our lives."
Menthuthuyoupi was silent as he listened to the two of them conversing with each other before he spoke up. "We have dedicated our lives to serve the King, even if the humans have someone like Mario or Sonic, they will all fall before the King's power."
{Jujutsu Kaisen Universe}
'Hmm, this Mario is not bad.' Sukuna spoke in Itadori's mind. 'His strength is definitely above an special grade cursed spirit wouldn't you say.'
"Sukuna! You can see the screen?!" Itadori whispered, to which part of Sukuna's eyes and mouth begin to form on his face.
"But of course, you and I share the same body. So whatever you see, I see as well and I think that Mario is quite a unique one." Sukuna replied.
'After all, both Goku and Superman are beings that not even I can match. And I willing to think that the screen will gladly shows us more interesting combatants. Wouldn't you agree?'
["Sonic was obviously incredibly fast, but he couldn't compete with Mario's superior strength, durability, and varied arsenal." Wiz said.]
["He got Mari-owned!" Boomstick punned.]
["The winner is Mario! Wiz exclaimed as Mario's image appeared on the screen, declaring Mario the victor.]
Just like before, the screen turns black for a while until the screens turned on again to reveal the interdimensional space and two portals waiting for the two combatant to arrive.

As soon as the green portal appeared in front of them, everyone turned towards Mario who he just sighed.
"Phew, well I have to go and apologized to Sonic now, see you guys soon." He waved goodbye as he walked towards the portal just as it closes behind him.
{Sonic the hedgehog (IDW Comics) Universe}
Like in Mario's universe, a green portal appeared in front of the Mobians, startling them all.
Sonic smiled, already knowing what he was about to do, "Well, I have to go and congratulate Mario on his victory, be back in a sec!" He replied before he jumped into the portal.
{Interdimensional Space}
The two portals then appeared in the interdimensional space as both Mario and Sonic come out of it.
Mario was slightly ashamed of himself, standing in front of Sonic before he composed and said, "Sonic, I have to apologize for what my on-screen self did."
Sonic then cringed a little bit before he smiled, "Hey man, it's okay. It is a Death Battle after all and it's just a simulation so no hard feelings."
Mario was taken aback by this before he smiled back, "Thank you Sonic!"
Sonic chuckled before his face turned serious, "Now, do you mind explaining why you put Donkey Kong inside of a cage?"
Mario looked away in shame as he remembered that the hosts showed that in the beginning of the episode, "Yeah I have to explain myself don't I?"
As Mario explained his reasons, he also told Sonic that he has apologized to Donkey Kong multiple times. Both Mario and Sonic then changed the topic and begin discussing about other important stuff as the rest of the Omniverse watched and absorbed their words.
That is until two green portals reappeared behind them, signalling that it's time to go.
Mario looked at the portals and said, "Well Sonic, I think it's time to go back to our separate universes." He offered a handshake and Sonic accepted it.
"Yeah and the next time we meet, I'll be the one who will win in our next fight!" Sonic exclaimed as the both of them chuckled to themselves.
"Well I hope you don't smear me across the pavement then!" Mario chuckled as they both began walking back towards the portals as the screen then turns black, indicating the end of this episode of Death Battle.
