It was almost as though he hated my very existence, and if it were his call I would have been lying dead on rhe floor already. "If I were you, I'd make that confession today."
Another threat. Curiously, that was all Officer Jones had since Mira had left. Threats and heated looks.To him, maybe that was a way to get me to tell him all that he was dying to know. Thanks to Mira. Whatever she'd said to him, it had made an impact.
So the detective wanted to speak to me again. Maybe it was to finally give up this charade and let me go.
