It was Lie's birthday today. All his fans were superb excited and posting birthday wishes online for him. His birthday party was the talk of the town.
'Happy birthday dear idol!' some user posted.
'It's gonna be a grand party tonight' another someone posted.
'Is it true he's gonna attend the party with his girlfriend...?' someone commented.
'Right! Heard something similar' a fan replied.
'I'm super excited to see them making an official appearance together' another fan replied.
Mingmei got ready for the party. She was wearing a skin color, semi glittered knee length frock paired with silver shining heels and one-sided braid hairs. Her look was elegant and perfect.
Mr. Han came to Mingmei's house. Doorbell rang and she opened the door.
"Oh, Mr. Han" she said.
"You are looking gorgeous Ms. Zheng" he said.
"Thank you, Mr. Han," she said.
"Mr. Lie asked me to take you to him so both of you can leave to the party venue together" he said.
"Sure, I'm ready. Let's get going" she said.
He opened the car's door for her, and they left for the party.
She arrived and met Wang Lie. He was so lost in her beauty that he was just looking at her continuously.
"Happy birthday Lie" she said.
"Ah! Oh, thanks a lot dear" he said coming to his senses.
"Do I really need to attend the party..." she asked.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"It's the first time we would go public as a couple... I feel...," She was nervous.
"My dear Meimei, don't worry... I'll be there with you. And besides, I need my girlfriend to be excited for my birthday. I don't care for the rest of the people there" he said.

Many reporters were waiting for them at the party venue. Upon arriving there, Lie got out of the car first, and then he took her hand in hand while she was getting down from the car. Everyone was like 'wow' seeing them together.

"Wow... They look so good together," said the reporters.
"Happy birthday Wang Lie" everyone started wishing him out loud.
"Thank you so much for your love," said Wang Lie.
Mingmei was holding his arm tightly. They went in. His father was standing there with other guests. Soon as Lie entered everyone started greeting them and giving him birthday wishes.
He thanked everyone and also introduced Mingmei to others. His father came there.
"Happy birthday Lie," said his father.
"Thank you. Well, this is...," said Lie.
"Well, everyone has been waiting for you. Come, I'll introduce you to my friends" his father interrupted him.
"Meimei, come with me" he said looking towards her.
His father just ignored it and introduced him to others.
"Gentlemen, as I promised, this is my son, Lie! The birthday boy, the star!" said his father.
"Hello Lie. Wishing you a very happy birthday! You look younger and handsome in real" said one of them.
"Thank you very much," said Lie.
"Oh, is this beautiful girl your girlfriend?" another someone asked.
"Yes. She is Mingmei, my girlfriend," said Lie.
"Hello" she said.
"Let's continue the chat later, it's time for the cake" his father interrupted again.
Lie was upset on his father's attitude, before he could say anything to his father, Mingmei stopped him. The cake was huge. Lie asked Mingmei to come with him, but his father grabbed his hand and took him away. She was standing with the guests and watching him with smile. Cake was cut, drinks were served.
While having drinks, one of Mr. Wang's colleagues said,
"Indeed, your son Lie has a very good eye at selecting his partner. Your future daughter-in-law is quite good."
"That's true, such elegant girl" another friend said.
"Daughter-in-law (laughed), come on, we all know, now a days these young people, take decisions in hurry! They think emotionally, who knows in some days there might be someone else," said Mr. Wang with a sarcastic laugh.
"But Lie does look serious here, after all he declared it directly in front of the media" his friend said.
"And that too, facing such strong opponent!" another friend said.

Lie heard it all. Getting more and more furious, he asked his father to talk in private. Both of them went in a room to have a talk.

"Party! People! Status! I'm tired of all this nonsense! Just leave me and my life alone!" said Lie.
"That's what your life is, because you are a celebrity, you are star! And more important is, I don't approve your relationship with her," said Mr. Wang.
"First thing, she is not just some girl, her name is Mingmei. And just to remind you, I don't care whether you are fine or not with my decision," said Lie.
Meanwhile, Mingmei came there. Lie hold her hand and walked towards his father.

"Lie..." Mingmei said in a low voice.

Lie!!! Lie!!" I said come back you stupid idiot!! Do you know whom you're talking to!! Lie!! Lie!!!" his father was yelling and shouting furiously.
Wang Lie was very angry and was driving very fast. Suddenly he hit the brakes, stopped the car, looked towards Mingmei, and said,
"I'm sorry Meimei... for what my father said back then."
"Lie, it's ok... I don't mind him for not liking me... it's just the reality no one speaks of..." she said.
"What reality! There is nothing logical and real about those words of him" he said.
"Fine, now forget about all that... I'm really hungry, let's go to Aunt Gao's restaurant and eat something, I haven't eaten anything at the party" she said making a puppy face.

It was Mingmei holding a cake covered with candles. He was just looking at her with full love. She came near him, placed the cake on table and asked him to make wish and blow the candles.
He made wish and blew the candles. The cake was cut. They fed cake to each other, and then to Mrs. Gao.
"Thanks a lot, Meimei... for your surprise" he said.
"It's not just this, son, there's something more," said Mrs. Gao.
"Something more, what's that?" he asked.
"Just wait here for a while. Meimei, let's go and get it," said Mrs. Gao.
They went in the kitchen. Lie was thinking of what it could be.
"Here we go! Delicious food" said Mrs. Gao with excitement.
Lie was shocked to see so many dishes that his mother used to cook for him.
"Aunt, these..." he asked with tears in his eyes.
Mingmei sat there next to him.
"Try them...," said Mingmei.

"You wanted me to keep my heart open, and so have I decided. I'll always be with you, no matter what. I accept to be your girlfriend," said Mingmei.

Seeing them happy together, Mrs. Gao's eyes were also full of tears.
