Thomas finally walked out of the room to join the other boys, and Azrael listened as the children all filed out from the dorm to head to the church. The two large buses that were used to carry them all were waiting outside, and a few minutes later, Azrael heard the buses revving before they took to the road and left.
Azrael finally took the blanket off his body and turned in bed with a sigh.
Underneath the blanket, Azrael was wearing the Shard of Aridite around his neck with boxers and a singlet.
There was a faraway look in Azrael's eyes as he stared at the ceiling, and Azrael wondered if there wasn't really something wrong with him.
Azrael felt guilty.
The actions he carried out yesterday were necessary to make sure that he survived.
If he was asked to do it a million times over, Azrael would do it without a second thought.
But even though Azrael didn't feel anything yesterday, he couldn't help the slight guilt that crept into his heart today.
