A strong breeze from an unknown source pushed Leon through the gate. It shut close behind him. The next second, his dagger materialized in his grip.
Leon swallowed, scanning around. Towering concrete-reinforced walls stretched to another gate in the distance...
"Monsters!" Leon groaned. He dropped into a boxer's stance, fists tight.
Metres away were a red-skinned spider with a bony spike on its back. And a humanoid armed with a scythe wearing a long, black cloak. Both monsters moved with nonchalance... as though Leon were a speck of dust unworthy of their attention.
[Ascend to the next gate within ten minutes...]
He clenched his jaw. "Two D-rank monsters! Damn it!"
It wouldn't be an excellent idea to use a paradox when he hadn't even met the boss monster. So, that means he would rely on his fighting skills and strategies to win against these monsters.
At that moment, the monsters stopped moving. Leon braced himself once more. The sudden pop-up caught his attention...
