Chapter 2 - The Riddle Awakens

Zaydan walked through the dimly lit streets, his fingers absentmindedly rolling the ring in his palm. His mind was a storm of thoughts, but one destination was clear—Rehan's house.

Rehan was the only person Zaydan truly trusted. An orphan who had built himself up from nothing, Rehan had the physique of a warrior—broad shoulders, ripped muscles, and a face that resembled a rugged movie star. His sharp jawline and piercing eyes made him look like an action hero, much like Randeep Hooda, while his physique was reminiscent of Salman Khan.

As Zaydan approached Rehan's house, he noticed something unusual—several large packages stacked outside the door. Curiosity got the best of him, and he peeked inside one.

His eyes widened.

Five-star chocolates.

Another package. More imported chocolates.

"What the hell…?" he muttered. "Did he rob a candy store?"

He stepped inside, following the sound of rhythmic grunts and heavy breathing. In the middle of the room, Rehan was doing push-ups—shirtless, his muscles flexing with every movement. Sweat dripped down his forehead, his arms moving with effortless strength.

"Still showing off, huh?" Zaydan smirked, crossing his arms.

Rehan finished his set, then stood up, wiping his face with a towel. "It's not showing off if you have it," he said with a cocky grin. "What brings you here? You look like you fought a bear and lost."

Zaydan sighed, rubbing his face. "More like fought my father and lost."

Rehan's playful smirk faded. "What happened?"

Zaydan sat on the couch, exhaling deeply. "Same old story. Bad grades. Adnan being the golden boy. Got kicked out. Almost made a stupid decision at the dam but—" He hesitated, then pulled out the ring. "I met this old guy. Helped him out, and he gave me this."

Rehan leaned forward, examining the ring. "Looks ancient. Any special powers?"

"Not sure… but he gave me some weird riddle." Zaydan recited the lines, his voice lowering as he repeated the last part.

Rehan leaned back, thinking. Then his eyes lit up. "Wait a minute. That sounds familiar."

Zaydan raised an eyebrow. "Familiar how?"

Rehan grinned. "Remember that Aladdin episode? The one where Zafar gets the ring?"

Zaydan's brows furrowed, then realization hit. "You mean the scene where he rubs the ring and summons a spirit?"

"Exactly! Maybe it's a sign. Let's watch it again."

Rehan grabbed the remote and switched on the TV. They fast-forwarded to the scene—Zafar holding the mysterious ring, rubbing it slowly.

Zaydan watched closely, his fingers still playing with the ring in his palm. The moment Zafar rubbed the ring—

Something clicked.

His mind replayed the riddle:

"Not by key, nor force, nor sight… But by touch in the dead of night."

His heart pounded.

He looked down at his own hand.

The ring, the exact same shape as Zafar's, was gleaming under the dim light.

He felt a sudden pulse—like a heartbeat—coming from the metal.

"Rehan…" Zaydan whispered, his voice trembling. "I think… I think this is real."

Rehan turned to him, confused. "What do you mean?"

Zaydan's breath quickened. He rubbed the ring.

A strange warmth spread through his fingers. His body tingled.

Then—the entire room darkened for a split second.

Zaydan jumped from the couch. "HOLY SHIT!"

Rehan's eyes widened. "What the hell just happened?"

Zaydan stared at the ring, his heartbeat hammering in his chest. "I don't know… but I think I just activated it."

Rehan's grin returned. "Bro… you might have just unlocked something insane."

Zaydan gulped. His entire life had just taken a turn he never expected.

And it all started with a single touch.
