Early in the morning, Zaboru was already in his office. Instead of diving straight into work, he sat alone, sipping his coffee and contemplating.
'I'm a visitor in this world. In my previous life, I was casual and easygoing, never caring much about other people's business. But now that I've been reincarnated into a younger and better version of myself, I can't afford to keep that mentality.'
He took another sip of his coffee, then continued his thoughts. 'I'm a leader now, a company owner. I need to assess the balance between kindness and cruelty. I must be stricter, focus on my advantages, or I'll be devoured by the competition.'
Zaboru realized how lucky he had been since his reincarnation—everything had gone his way so far. 'I can't afford to be lenient. Life doesn't always go smoothly. I know that from experience. I need to change for the better. Let's start by being strict with my employees. I didn't include a non-compete clause in their contracts before, but next time, I might—just as Kudou suggested. As for my current employee who choose to leave, I'll show them who's in charge. If they leave now, they won't be welcomed back. i need to make specific contract for these, I have to be ruthless, or I might fail. I can't let my dream collapse! because other people convenient '
He clenched his fist. 'I also can't underestimate my opponent. Sonaya is a strong company—stronger than Sony was in my previous life at this point in time.'
With that resolution, Zaboru steeled his mind. He would be stricter, less soft-hearted. This was a moment of character growth.
Suddenly, he felt something shift within him. His mind and body became clearer. His stamina surged, and his dexterity improved.
Zaboru's eyes widened. 'Wait! What is this? Is this another mystical ability like my Deep Memory Dive? Did I just… achieve enlightenment?'
Though the realization was shocking, he quickly calmed himself feeling changes in his body and smirked. "With this, my body feels fully energized, my mind sharper, and somehow i can feel my dexterity also improved a lot. I need to test this out later."
With renewed focus, he headed to his workspace to put his new abilities to the test. His hands moved more nimbly than before, his thoughts flowed seamlessly, and his body brimmed with energy. A grin spread across his face. 'With this, I'll be able to develop even more games!'
He immediately channeled his newfound abilities into speeding up his ongoing projects.
Meanwhile, in one of ZAGE's offices, a conversation was unfolding between Sayuri and Yuna.
"Yuna-san, why would you consider leaving ZAGE just because Sonaya offered you a higher salary?" Sayuri asked.
Yuna smiled politely. "Isn't it logical, Sayuri-san? I'm just being professional. I'll work for whoever offers me the best benefits."
Sayuri sighed. "I thought you had a broader vision, but you're as narrow-minded as ever, Yuna."
Yuna frowned. "Insult me all you want, Sayuri-san, but I'm just stating facts. I'm not emotionally attached to this company, or my next company after this. It's just a job."
Sayuri nodded. "That's a reasonable mindset. But tell me—do you want to win the battle or win the war?"
Yuna raised a brow. "What do you mean by that?"
Adjusting her glasses, Sayuri continued, "Let's say you accept Sonaya's offer and get four times your current salary. You'll be under constant pressure because they need to outperform ZAGE in the video game market. You'll be forced to work overtime, and if the game fails, you'll take the blame. Your only comfort will be that high salary. But here, even if you don't make as much, you'll be on the winning side. You'll work at a steady pace, alongside your brother, and still enjoy nice bonuses—like last month when ZEPS sold extremely well. Our boss isn't stingy when it comes to rewarding hard work."
Yuna's eyes widened slightly. Sayuri had a point. "That might be true… but only if ZAGE can stay ahead in the video game industry. Sonaya is a massive company—at least a hundred times bigger than ZAGE right now. They have connections and the resources to ensure their success."
Sayuri smirked. "It doesn't matter how big Sonaya is, Yuna. In the entertaiment industry video games included, the consumer is king. Consumers or you called them Gamers know what they want, and ZAGE will always be able to deliver—as long as our boss is still in charge."
Yuna hesitated. "Why are you so loyal to Zaboru anyway? I know he's young and has potential, but inexperience comes with being young. His chances of failing aren't exactly low."
Sayuri shook her head. "Yuna, do you know how long home consoles have been a dead industry in Japan? Almost a decade. Why didn't anyone revive it during that time? It's not that they didn't try, but they lacked the innovation and the courage to do it. But Zaboru? At just 17 years old, he created his own company and revived an industry that everyone had given up on. Right now, he's only making waves in Japan, but in the future, his influence will reach the world."
She leaned forward slightly. "Even Shin-san fully trusts Zaboru's vision. He respects him. And your brother, Yugo—his gut instincts are usually spot on, aren't they? As his twin, you should know that better than anyone. And what did Yugo say? He believes Zaboru will become the best. That's why I believe in him too."
Sayuri then take a breath "And Zaboru is Zanichi-senpai son , Zanichi-senpai have nick name in Sonaya , he called 'Seer' because he always able to predict the flow of success goin , but unfortunately he is not really interested in fortune , that's why he just still at Director now in Sonaya
Yuna then ask "Zaboru dad is that Amazing?", Sayuri nod "He is , but he always low key , he only tell his prediction to people he trust"
Yuna was taken aback. The way Sayuri put it, Zaboru really did sound extraordinary. And his dad is Awesome too ? She reconsidered her decision before finally asking, "But there's still a chance he could fail, right? Zaboru i mean?"
Sayuri sighed. "Everything has a chance of failure, Yuna. Even the Earth could stop rotating and we'd all die—you never know."
Yuna thought deeply. 'Maybe I should seriously reconsider Zaboru. Sure, I'd get a big salary if I switched companies, but at ZAGE, while the future isn't guaranteed, there's a chance it could shine even brighter. Not only that… I was the first employee here. That has to mean something.'
She finally smiled and said to Sayuri, "Fine then, Sayuri-san. I'm staying."
Sayuri smiled. "That's a good decision. Now, let's wait for the boss to give his official statement about Sonaya's poaching attempts."
Yuna nodded and returned to her desk.
To be continued…
