Even after the Luxe family's nobles and the figures hidden in the shadows had already started leaving, Van didn't relax.
His Lens tracked the retreating figures—some of them were clutching their wounded limbs, others were dragging unconscious comrades.
'They weren't the Luxe family's men.'
This meant that the Luxe nobleman ordered his men to injure these people who were chasing them… It seemed that he was still a man of his word.
"We need to go. Now." Butler Judge's voice was urgent as he called for Van to retreat.
"That fool just saved us from one trap by springing another." He added.
'Hmm?'
It seemed that the old butler sensed another incoming threat.
Van nodded at this as he scooped up the gold pouch before going back inside the carriage.
As the carriage advanced, his Lens tried to look for the hidden threat, but unfortunately, he couldn't find it at all. It only means that the threat was perhaps not a normal pursuer… It could be a type of Magic locked unto them.
