Keelion went silent.
The mood changed, falling, and for a second, she thought she may have asked the wrong question, but then he answered, "She's…late."
"Oh…" The light smile on her face faded.
"She wasn't exactly…very loved by my father. And she wasn't always very happy, so she…" Keelion's voice cracked a little bit, and he breathed out. "She took her own life."
Eleni blinked rapidly, eyes growing so sad, that it almost looked like she was going to pull him into a hug. "I'm so sorry, son. That must have…my goddess."
"It's okay, it's okay." Keelion shook his head at her. "It happened on my sixteenth birthday, so it's been years now."
She was a mother. No matter how he pretended it was okay, she could see it in his eyes. He never got over it. He probably never healed from the loss.
It felt a bit strange why no one knew about this. The death of the alpha's mother. Nothing much was really known about her, not even her death.
